As we all know, this is the wedding season ☺️☺️.

I decided to make a post reminding 2023 couples to patronize me for their wedding cakes.

Then I got a DM:
Customer: hi, my wedding is next month, and I need a cake. I heard you make wedding cakes.

Me: yes, ma'am. I do.

Customer: *sends sample* I want exactly this please, no changes. How much will it cost?

Me: it will cost ₦XYZ

Customer: haaaa😳. That's too much for a cake na. What is in cake sef. Is it not just flour, sugar, butter and eggs?

Me: there's more to cake, ma'am. A lot of work goes into creating a master piece and this design you've chosen requires a lot of creativity and mastery.

Customer: abegi. All these big big grammar for cake. It's not like I don't bake ooo. It's because I don't want to stress myself. Besides my grandma can bake🙄

Me: I understand you perfectly, ma'am. And I appreciate the fact that you contacted me for the job. However, if you want exactly this cake, then the price I have given you is very fair and affordable.

Customer: this your sweet mouth sef. I've heard you, but this price is far above what I budgeted.

Me: okay, so what's your budget?

Customer:my budget is (calls half the price I gave her) ₦ABC

Me: Wow. That's a good budget, however it's not a workable one for this sample you sent me. (I proceed to send her samples within her budget). These are the cakes you can make with this budget, ma'am.
As you can see, they're also beautiful, but not as complex as your initial sample.

Customer: noooo. It is that exact cake I want. Can't you do it for the same price? 😭😭😭

Me: 🙄😒 *bombastic side eyes*

Customer: it's because I love your work ooo. I just want to patronize you. But wait first, how am I sure that it will even be sweet?

Me: my cakes are always delicious, and you won't regret choosing me.

Customer: eh ehn. Oya na. Prove it to me.

Me: how, ma'am?

Customer: send me a sample for tasting, so that I will know what to expect.

Dear customer, good cakes are not cheap.
When you see something good, try to pay the price to get it, rather than looking for someone to do it "cheaper."
It usually doesn't end well.🤗
