When the bride messaged me that she was getting married and wanted me to handle both her bridal shower and wedding cake, I was genuinely excited, not just about her wedding, which I had been anticipating but also because I was honored to be her baker.
At the time, I had no clear plan on how I was going to make it work because the essential equipment I needed for baking wasn’t with me due to a recent change in location. Eventually, I found a reliable place with the necessary tools. I put all my hope in that Plan A, without considering a Plan B.
But guess what? My Plan A failed, but the Master Planner, God, already had a Plan B in place. His plan was not only easier but also more reliable than mine.
To the glory of God, I successfully baked the wedding cake and moved on to decorating it. The wedding cake colors were navy blue and gold, while the bridal shower theme was pink and white. I searched all over the market for navy blue food color but couldn’t find any, so I decided to mix black and royal blue, hoping it would give me the right shade. Instead, I got purple at first! I was a bit worried, but I left it overnight, and by the next morning, I had the perfect navy blue.
I transported the cake all the way from Redemption City to Oyo Town without a scratch! The cake was delivered beautifully and intact. Distance was not a barrier, and it will never be.
