If you keep waiting for clients this MAY then you are not ready to monetize your skill as a creative designer
Here are 10 things I would do differently this month to attract good paying clients
1. Stop posting only designs, start telling stories
People don’t just buy designs.
They buy the thinking behind it.
Instead of saying “Here is my logo design”
Say this instead “This is how I helped this brand look more premium.”
2. Talk like a human, not a designer
Most designers sound too technical.
Clients don’t care about typography hierarchy.
They care about:
Will this help my business grow?
3. Show results, not just beauty
A fine design is good.
But a design that brings results?
That is what sells.
For example;
This flyer helped my client get 50+ orders.
4. Be visible every single day
You don’t need to go viral.
You just need to be seen consistently.
One post can bring a client.
But only if people are seeing you.
5. Start talking to people (not waiting)
Stop waiting for when they will DM you for work.
Instead:
Reply comments
Message potential clients
Engage with business owners
Clients come from conversations, not silence.
6. Position yourself as the solution
Don’t say: “I’m a graphic designer.”
Say this instead: “I help brands attract more customers with clean and powerful designs.”
Did you see the difference?
7. Show your face more
People trust people, not just designs.
Talk. Share. Show your process.
Even if you’re shy, start small.
8. Share your struggles too
Not everything should look perfect.
When you say:
“I struggled to get clients before, but this worked for me…”
People connect more.
9. Make it easy to hire you
Some of you are hiding your services.
Always include:
What you offer
How to contact you
Clear call to action
Don’t confuse your potential clients.
10. Stop trying to impress designers, speak to clients
This one is important.
Designers will like your work.
But clients will pay you.
So ask yourself:
Will a business owner understand this post?
This May, don’t just post…
Communicate.
Connect.
Convert.
Because at the end of the day, It’s not the best designer that wins.
But the one people understand and trust.
