use lesser shortening or margarine to icing sugar
for instance when working with 500g icing sugar , use 100g to 150g of margarine or shortening then add liquid gradually to soften it pending the time you work around the cake and in no time the frosting start crusting coz the margarine is way lesser than the sugar 👍
