Clays Bread a wholly owned subsidiary of Clays Bakery product and confectionery NIG Ltd, was founded in 1977. The mission of the company was to be Nigeria's first
world class nation wide confectionery brand, providing international range and quality of bakery products to urban consumers. Apart from just being a preferred
neighborhood baker, Clays Bread has emerged to be one of the top supplier
s in the institutional market also. The company started commercial operations in January 1997. Early years were concentrated on the manufacturing of specialty breads for distribution in supermarket
chains, private label bakeries, coffee chains, multiplexes and also setting up its branded retail outlets in Delta State. Clays Bread has proprietary recipes for over
400 bakery products including Nigeria's widest range of breads, pastries and cakes. In 1990, the company expanded its operations by franchising with a Master franchisee Agbor partnering with Clays Food Processors. The company since then has expanded
its operations with more franchisees being added in Asaba also. Today the company has a strong brand name and retail strength of 21 stores of all formats and also is the supplier of choice for institutional with all the major cafe
