In the Name of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Especially Merciful.

What started as simple notes for my own children has now snowballed into two published books : My Pr***en Daughter and My Pr***en Son. Both books were sincerely written with PURPOSE for millions of children and parents around the world.

In Ramadan 2023, one quiet night as I looked at my children, I marvelled at how fast they were growing and I felt an immediate need to speak to them. I had sooo many things I felt they needed to know; about their deen, their responsibility, their emotions, their role models, the world at large. I needed to prepare their hearts and minds for the journey ahead. Those heartfelt conversations became the seed that blossomed into these books.

It is my absolute honor to announce the public presentation and official launch of these books. I’ll be absolutely delighted if you could join me, and please invite your friends and family to the virtual launch.

Hopefully these books will be the beginning of greater things to come and a start of healthy conversations within every family.

Many weeks ago, I brought together a group of young Muslim kids between the ages of 8-13 to participate in my class tagged ‘umm Khaleel’s class’. I designed a whole syllabus around it and created a zoom link which I shared. Among the topics we discussed was personal identity, significance of salah, building healthy friendships etc.

It was a fully interactive and immersive class and I was so happy with how the kids enjoyed the classes and engaged with the topics.

On Friday, we held the last class for this batch and the topic was on Making Dua. It was really interesting to hear the kids’ impression about Dua. H said she doesn’t want to be too greedy while making Dua and I asked why not! That’s the plan. Ask for everything and anything. He created you and He says you should ask of Him and He will answer you. Ask Allah for everything.

The final week also saw kids giving their presentations on their Buddy up activities (on the topic of healthy friendships, each student was buddied up with another kid from another family and given a project to work on together)

I feel so happy and fulfilled. And I’m even more happy and fulfilled with the kids’ reflections which was required of them after some classes.

I hope to make this a continuous thing, and I seek Allah’s Guidance through it all. I am very passionate about kids and about catching them young, and even though it is so much work it feels like a breeze for which I’m thankful.

Some parents who got a whiff of the classes asked that I continue and also include for teenagers too. Let’s see the direction Allah takes me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you've shown me following my previous post. I feel incredibly blessed to have you all in my life.

I'm just as thrilled as you are to see my book come to life. While I'm still in the process of editing and adding some final touches, I had shared the draft with a few people for their corrections, constructive criticisms, and valuable opinions.

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to my incredible Mommyyyyyyyyyyy. If you know me, you’ll know how much my mom means to me. She is the first wind beneath my wings, and has always always supported my every project. Allahuma Barik! She read every single page of the draft and proffered constructive criticism, even up to my punctuations 😂😂

I’ll like to thank my elder brother. His own suggestions and opinions came numbered 🤣🤣, well thought out👏🏾. My elder sister was also instrumental to some of the evidence from the shariah that is present in the book. You see my younger siblings ba? They are the real ‘go on soun! You can do it 😂’. The gassing up from them is not of this planet. Thankful for them really.

I’m thankful to Mama Zainab, who prevented me from overthinking throughout this journey.
My heartfelt thanks to Samiah she perused the draft with genuine interest and proffered a solution that’s reflected in one of the chapters.

I can't thank my husband enough for being my rock and constantly cheering me on. Rukkyyyy Babyyy, your opinion on the draft and its relevance were truly invaluable. Ayawani, Shukrah, Soska and Rabi, your unwavering support has meant everything to me.

As I keep working on the book, I pray that Allah guides me every step of the way.

Now, here's a fun trivia question for you all: How many pages do you think a book for teens should typically be? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

📚 Exciting Announcement! 🎉 I'm absolutely thrilled to share that I embarked on an incredible writing journey during the last days of Ramadan,
2023, penning my book titled 'My Daughter Will Soon Be a Teen - A book from an Islamic perspective tailored for young Muslim girls to help them navigate their teenage years'! 🌟📖

As a parent, I've witnessed my little girl grow and flourish before my eyes, and now, as she approaches her teenage years, I feel a mix of emotions—excitement, pride, and a touch of apprehension. 🌺, it has always been important to me to raise my daughter in a way that aligns with our faith and empower her to face the unique challenges of her teenage years with confidence and grace. 🌺✨

Writing this book is my very little way of helping her and many other young girls navigate this beautiful and transformative phase.

Within the pages of 'My Daughter Will Soon Be a Teen,' I delved into various topics such as her muslim identity, pre teen age, how to make Dua. Beauty and body image, puberty, hygiene, nurturing a strong parent-child bond and lots more. There’s even a topic on how to relate with boys 😅😀🌸💪

I also shared some personal anecdotes, heartfelt advice, and practical tips that I've learned along the way.🤗❤️

I hope the book serves as a guide that will empower young Muslim girls to embrace their identity, strengthen their connection with Allah (SWT), and navigate the challenges of adolescence with resilience and wisdom. 🤗❤️

I'm immensely grateful for your support for all the projects I embark on, I can't wait to share this journey with you! 📚✨

I’m pleased to announce that I have been accepted onto the UN Women UK delegation for this Year’s United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

The events are billed to hold between 6th and 18th of March 2023 spanning across New York and London. I hope to attend the events in London physically, and if not, I’ll be joining virtually.

There are over 2000 delegates from the UK, and being selected as one of them is indeed humbling.

As someone keen on advancing the course of women, I'm looking forward to contributing my opinions, suggestions and ideas to the delegation on how to empower girls and women. I’m sure I’ll find this opportunity empowering and fulfilling.

It is three days to the events and I need your help in gathering as much information on the peculiar issues facing women in your area. The topics of the events span across a multitude of concerns such as healthcare, digital divide, sustainability, women empowerment, peace education, serving rural victims, education, gender based Vio..len.. , E Government and E services and lots more.

In my little capacity, I have also emphasized the need for a sub group on Religion to be added to the discussion. Women worldwide face unbelievable degrees of discrimination based solely on their religion and the way they dress. The fundamental Right to Expression, Association and Religion keeps been eroded. And light should be shone on this too in line with Women’s Rights.

On a lighter note, I opened an official page for myself . It is an extension of my LinkedIn page. It has more formal content of myself and my work. I mean, I cannot refer a potential employer to this page and they’ll be seeing cake 😃. And at the same time , I don’t want to delete the history that this page holds.❤️.

I asked this question earlier.
Personally I use extracts, flavors or oil. Because I am still unsure as to whether or not Edible spirits are halal.

I’ve read somewhere that edible spirit is simply vodka while some others say it’s just like ethanol and isn’t necessarily haram.

I prefer to err on the side of caution.
So, is Edible spirit Alcohol or not?

What do you use to dilute your luster dusts?

P.S Don’t mind the Kai Kai girl 😭😭.

(NOT RELATED - I remember one time a customer asked me to add alcohol to his cake. I told him I was sorry and that I don’t handle or use alcohol. He then asked me that no it doesn’t have to be one with high alcohol content. Just small. Just small😅 Excuse sir, in high or small quantities, this girl doesn’t handle alcohol 😭😭)
