Want to make soft, fluffy doughnuts without a mixer?

Here's how:

• Knead by hand
Use the push-fold-turn method. When the dough feels smooth and elastic, you're good.

• Check your dough texture
The dough should be slightly tacky but not overly sticky.
If it's too sticky, add a little flour.
If it's too dry, add a bit of water.

• Let it rise
Cover and place in a warm spot. Wait till it doubles in size (around 1 hour).

• No cutter? No problem
Use a cup and bottle cap to shape your doughnuts.

• Control your oil temperature
Fry on medium heat. Too hot and they burn, too cold and they soak oil.

• Fry in small batches
Don’t overcrowd. Fry 3–4 at a time and flip when golden brown.

Dust with sugar, milk or dip in glaze while still warm. Want extra wow? Fill with jam or chocolate milk filling.

Bonus Tips:

• Use warm (not hot) liquid when mixing your dough. It helps activate the yeast without killing it.

• Rest your shaped doughnuts before frying
Let them sit for 10–15 minutes after cutting. They’ll rise again slightly and turn out fluffier.

• Use a deep pot for frying
This helps maintain a steady oil temperature and gives your doughnuts room to float and cook evenly.

• Drain on paper towels or a rack
Keeps them light and not greasy.

• Don't reuse oil too many times
Old oil affects the taste and texture.
