A Nigerian traditional wedding cake, but with a contemporary finish. 🤍❤️💛
For this design, I wanted to bring together elements that feel distinctly Nigerian while keeping the overall cake elegant and uncluttered.
I created the burgundy textile-inspired effect without a texture mould, using just a ruler and the pointed tip of a small knife. I then added the raised ornamental panels, gold details, and finally the Nigerian-inspired elements — including the kola nuts, garden eggs and beads.
This wasn't just about decorating a cake; it was about figuring out how different cultural details could work together as one design.
I documented the process in my latest Baker's Academy — Cake Decorating Studio episode.
