Why I Baked My Own Wedding Cake
One of the countless reasons I baked my own wedding cake is because it's not just about the cake, it's about celebrating myself through what I love doing the most.
Whenever I mention that I’ll be making my wedding cake, I often hear, “Won’t it be stressful?” or “You’re the bride; you should relax!”
Was it stressful? Yes!
But for me, Oluwakemi Deborah Abayomi it is a moment to enjoy the process.
I wanted to feel what my brides feel when they ask for updates on their cakes. I wanted to be involved in every step, watching how the cake comes together and looking for ways to make it even better. I wanted to enjoy every moment of the process and cheer myself on. I wanted the cake to clearly say, "The bride is a baker, and she made her cake herself."
