Chef Johnson Lim,founder, Chef-Patron of Opera Boulangerie and a celebrated Malaysian boulangerie chef, is renowned for his mastery in French and Japanese artisan baking. With nearly two decades of experience, Chef Johnson began his journey as an apprentice to world champion Japanese bakers and rose through the ranks at The Loaf Bakery, eventually serving as Senior Head Chef across 19 outlets. His expertise spans fermentation, dough preparation, and the creation of classic and contemporary breads such as sourdough, baguettes, croissants, and pain de campagne.
In 2022, he launched Opera Boulangerie, a boutique bakery dedicated to artisanal excellence. Chef Johnson also serves as a consultant and demonstration chef for international brands, contributing to product development, training, and bakery operations. His accolades include winning the Malaysia National Boulangerie Challenge 2024 (Professional Team Champion, Best Viennoiserie) and the California Raisins Contest 2011. With a strong foundation in R&D, production management, and staff training, Chef Johnson continues to shape Malaysiaโs bakery landscape with innovation and precision.
