Truly authentic homemade Nyonya Acar is now open for pre-order this coming Chinese New Year 2026 🐎.
This year, we continue our much-loved Nyonya Acar Chili — a recipe we have lovingly made year after year.
Alongside it, we proudly introduce Nyonya Acar Penang, thoughtfully presented to complement our acar collection this festive season, specially for those who enjoy an extra kick of heat.
My mum was born into a traditional Peranakan family in Malacca, where she grew up learning Peranakan cooking from her mother and grandmother.
Both acar recipes are passed down from my grandmother, and acar has always been a must-have dish on our Chinese New Year reunion table.
Today, my mum continues making these acar by hand,
and we are opening them for pre-order for those who miss this familiar, traditional taste.
我老妈出生自马六甲传统的娘惹家庭,从小受外婆和妈妈的熏陶,对烹煮娘惹菜肴有着浓烈的兴趣。老妈精心特制的 Nyonya Acar,是一道傳承自外婆的拿手菜餚,每逢新年团圆饭饭桌上必定有它的出现。
今年新年,我们延续制作深受喜爱的 娘惹阿喳辣椒,
一道年复一年,用心坚持的家传经典。
同时,隆重推出 娘惹槟城阿喳,
为新年阿喳系列增添一抹更鲜明、更浓烈的辣味层次,
献给喜爱重口与辣感的你。
这两款阿喳,都是妈妈从外婆那里承接下来的家传配方。
现在由我妈妈亲手制作,
开放给想吃、想念这个传统味道的朋友们预订。
🌶️ Nyonya Acar Chili(马六甲娘惹阿喳)
Nyonya Acar Chili 属于马六甲娘惹风味。
每罐内含 6 条整条腌制青辣椒,每条辣椒里都塞满 日晒木瓜丝,
再搭配 黄瓜条、萝卜条、虾米、蒜蓉片和炸姜丝。
酱料以 醋、黄姜、红葱头、蒜、虾米和 belacan 自炒腌制。
口味是 酸甜平衡、香香的、微辣,很开胃,也很下饭。
Nyonya Acar Chili is a Malacca-style Peranakan Acar.
Each jar contains 6 whole pickled green chilies, each stuffed with sun-dried shredded green papaya, together with sun-dried cucumber, carrot strips, dried shrimp, fried garlic and fried ginger.
The gravy is made from vinegar, turmeric, shallots, garlic, dried shrimp and belacan.
The flavour is a balanced blend of sweet and sour with mild heat —
not too spicy and very appetising.
🌶️ Nyonya Acar Penang(槟城娘惹阿喳)
Nyonya Acar Penang 属于口味比较重的一款。
主要材料包括 日晒黄瓜、日晒萝卜、长豆、包菜,
再加入 花生和芝麻。
整体口味 酸、辣、香 都比较明显,
辣度比马六甲版更高,
比较适合喜欢重口味、爱吃辣的朋友😍
Nyonya Acar Penang features a bolder, spicier flavour profile.
A medley of sun-dried cucumber and carrot, long beans, and cabbage is carefully pickled in a fragrant rempah chili marinade, then finished with roasted peanuts and sesame seeds for added depth and texture.
The flavour is sharper, spicier, and more aromatic,
with a stronger chili kick compared to the Malacca style.
Best suited for those who enjoy bold, spicy flavours.
