Shalom,

" He shall baptize you with the Holy spirit and with fire." John the Baptist.

Here, John the Baptist, the forerunner of the Mashiach, made two prophecies about the Mashiach. And many believed that they were fulfilled on the day of Pentecost or Shavuot. By the way, this was not the first " Pentecost" , which is really Shavuot or the Feast of Weeks. The first Shavuot was as recorded in Exodus chapter 19, where the first Assembly gathered at the Mount Sinai.

What was fulfilled at Pentecost as recorded in Acts 2 was the outpouring of the holy spirit of Elohim. For Yeshua HaMashiach, before ascending to heaven, told them to wait for the promise of the Father. For they shall be "baptize with the Holy spirit" . Yeshua did not mentioned about " the fire". Many confused the "tongues like fire" that rested upon them as the baptism of fire. But that is not correct. As Yeshua HaMashiach said, that was the baptism in the holy spirit. And Yeshua HaMashiach said that they will have authority to witness, from Yerushalayim and to the uttermost part of the earth, that Yeshua is the Mashiach. And that is what the spirit of Elohim is empowering the disciples of Yeshua, to witness that Yeshua, whom they impaled on the tree, is the both Mashiach and Master. On that day of Pentecost, three thousand people believed that Yeshua is the Mashiach. And later, another five thousand people believed in Yeshua as the Mashiach. And all of those believers were Hebrew, or as many people says, were all Jews. There was not one gentile among those early believers in Yeshua as the Mashiach. The first gentile convert was the family of Cornelius. And that was many years later.

John the Baptist gave those two prophecies. But only one was fulfilled at Pentecost. The " baptism with fire" has not yet been fulfilled. The baptism with fire is about the "coming day of judgment".

What John the Baptist meant by the " baptism with fire" or "in fire", he clarified in the very next verse through a beautiful allegory :

" His winnowing fork is in his hands. He will purge his threshing floor and gather his grain into his granary. But the chaff he will burn in a fire that never goes out."

For John the Baptist, like other prophets in the Tanakh , fire was a symbol of judgment. Isaiah wrote," Here comes Yahweh with fire, His chariots are like whirlwind, to vent His anger with fury, His rebuke with flames of fire. For with fire will Yahweh execute judgment." Isaiah 66:15-16. Fire is an awesome thing. And Hebrews 12: 29, quoting from Deuteronomy 4:24, pronounces : " Our God is a devouring fire. " Fire is a perfect symbol of destruction, and thus a figure of judgment.

So there is a coming judgment, a " baptism of fire", as foretold by John the Baptist. Now is a good time to turn to Yahweh as your God and to obey His Torah, His instructions for living in righteousness and holiness. The " times of the Gentiles" is running out very fast. Its time to awake and prepare for the coming of our Master Yeshua HaMashiach.

"Baruch Haba Bshem Yahweh" is Hebrew and means, " Blessed is He who is coming in the name of Yahweh!" Come Yeshua! Bo Yeshua!

Shalom,

" Blessed are the poor in spirit ; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:3

In the opening beatitude Yeshua HaMashiach couples "poor in spirit" with "kingdom of heaven". The kingdom of heaven is what Yeshua calls the body of his followers, his movement. In Hebrew, "kingdom" can mean "rule" or "those who are ruled" and is never a territorial designation. "Theirs" is better translated as "of these" or "of such as these". For we cannot possess the kingdom. It does not belong to us; rather, Yeshua is describing in these beatitudes the kind of people who make up the Kingdom.

The " poor in spirit " is an abbreviation of "poor and crippled in spirit" in Isaiah 66:2. It is the "poor in spirit" , the spiritually down and outers, who have no righteousness of their own ; the "mourners" , the broken hearted who have reached the end of their strength and cry out to Elohim in despair and hopelessness; "the meek" , those who have thrown away their pride. It is people such as these who get into the kingdom and find salvation.

And Yeshua HaMashiach said that the kingdom is "karav". Though usually translated as " near" , "karav" actually means, "It's here! It has arrived!" The kingdom is not futuristic but "it's here". "Karav" does not imply that there has to be any distance at all between that which is coming near and that which is being approached. The kingdom of heaven is always present tense, right now, according to Yeshua HaMashiach. We cannot confuse the kingdom of heaven with Yeshua's teachings on his second coming, or what Yeshua calls " the coming of the Son of Man".

The concept of " the kingdom" is perhaps the most important spiritual concept in the Renewed Covenant. In English or Greek, kingdom is never verbal. It is something static, something to do with territory. But in Hebrew, kingdom is active. It is action. It is Elohim ruling in the lives of men. Those who are ruled by Elohim are the kingdom of God.

Yeshua HaMashiach used "kingdom" to refer to those who followed him, the members of his movement. His disciples were now to literally be the kingdom of Elohim by demonstrating His presence and power in their lives. That's why Yeshua told his disciples to proclaimed, "The Kingdom of Elohim is here!" when they enter any town and they were accepted. And the kingdom of heaven is a synonym with the kingdom of God.

"Baruch Haba Bshem Yahweh" is Hebrew and means, " Blessed is He who is coming in the name of Yahweh".

Shalom,

"This I recall to my mind, therefore I wait:

The kindness of Yahweh! For we have not been consumed, for His compassions has not ended. They are new every morning. Great is Your trustworthiness.

"Yahweh is my portion" , says my being, " Therefore I wait for Him! "

Yahweh is good to those waiting for Him, to the being who seeks Him.

It is good - both to wait and to be silent, for the deliverance of Yahweh. "

1 Shevat 5781

Blessed are you, Yahweh our Elohim, King of the universe. May it be your will, O Yahweh our Elohim that we begin this month with the pardoning of sin and the forgiveness of iniquity.

Bless and sanctify this new month to us and to all your people, with joy and gladness, with blessings and provisions for all our needs, in peace and prosperity.

Unite our hearts to fear your Name so that we will keep your commandments and walk in the path of righteousness, for your honour and to receive your blessings.

We long for the day when the Torah will go forth from Zion to all the nations, when darkness will flee away, when the people of Elohim will possess the kingdom, when justice and righteousness will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea, and when Yahshua will be King over all the earth.

In the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach, our Master.

Shalom,

John the Baptist said, "I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ' Make straight the way of Yahweh, "as the prophet Yeshayahu said. ' "

What John meant when he said, "I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness" was, "I'm here but there's no one to hear me." Poor John. Eating locusts and honey in the wilderness and wearing a leather belt.

Today, in the world of the Internet, no one's hearing. Oops, only the few with hearing ears. For the masses have ears but cannot hear. It's just like the sound of silence to them. For to hear means to hear and obey.

Shalom Aleichem.

29 Kislev 5781 (15th Decem)

"Behold, tomorrow is the new month", David said to Jonathan.

Today is the 29th day of Kislev, the 9th month of the Hebrew calendar. Its the last day of the month. So at sundown today, will be Rosh Chodesh Tevet, the 10th month of the Hebrew calendar.

The Hebrew calendar is based on the movement of the moon around the earth. It is adjusted to the movement of the earth around the sun, so that the new year will be in the spring, when the barley are in the abib. So it's a Lunar and Solar based calendar. The new moon is at conjunction or at the dark or concealed moon. Some says it's at the first sighting of the sliver moon. Based on astronomical calculations, the moon should be able to be seen tonight. However, there are many factors that can affect the sighting of the moon.

The mazal or constellations for the 10th month of Tevet is the capricorn, the goat. There are 12 major constellations, one for each month of the year. Genesis 1:14 tells us that the sun, moon and stars are for signs, for Moedim, and for days and months. For Elohim created the stars and counted their numbers and called them by their names. However, the Scripture is against astrology, but not astronomy.

The tribe for the month is Dan, the 5th son of Yaakob and the 1st son of Rachel by her maid, Bilhah. Yaakob has 12 children and one child is for each month of the year. And the tribe chosen for the first month of Abib is Yehudah, although Reuben was the first born. Reuben was disqualified for defiling his father's bed. We can know much about each tribe by studying the blessings pronounced by Yaakob and Mosheh over each of the tribe.

The gemstone for the month is turquoise. There are 12 gemstones on the breastplate of the High priest garment, one for each of the 12 tribes.

So at sundown tonight will be Rosh Chodesh Tevet. And Rosh Chodesh is Hebrew for the head of the month. Rosh Chodesh is a minor holiday and is not a a shabbat day. However, Rosh chodesh is written together with the Shabbat and the Appointed times, 276 times in the Tanakh. And the Scripture gives written instructions regarding how we are to celebrate Rosh Chodesh. They are as follows :

1. Blow the shofar to welcome the new month, as written in Psalm 81:4

2. Breaking bread together. See 1 Samuel 20:5, 18. Breaking bread is Hebrew for a fellowship meal. It is not a holy communion, which is a Roman Catholic tradition.

3. Have a set apart assembly. See Isaiah 1:13-14. And our Master Yeshua HaMashiach said that 2 or 3 can assemble together in His Name. How relevant in this time of pandemic. This is the time to pray to Yahweh our Elohim and our Father, to sanctify the new month.

4. Bring korbanot or offerings to the temple. See Numbers 28:11-15. The korbanot are as follows : the burnt offering, the grain offering, the drink offering and the sin offering. Although it was translated as sin offering, it was not for sin per se or for any transgression of the law. For any transgression of the law, a different korban would be offered. This "sin offering" was for cleansing from defilement. All those 4 korbanot were not offered because of sin, which is the transgression of the law. The korbanot were offered to enable the worshippers to draw near to the Almighty, Who is the most set apart. However, since there is no temple in Yerushalayim, none of those korbanot can be offered. However, we are the temple of the spirit of Elohim. As such we need to be aware of the spiritual significance of each of those korbanot.

Briefly : the burnt offering speaks of our total and complete dedication to Yahweh our Elohim. This is the kind of life demonstrated by our Master Yeshua HaMashiach. The grain offering is to acknowledge that Yahweh our Elohim is the source of our total supply. He is our El Shaddai. The drink offering speaks of rejoicing in the presence of Yahweh our Elohim. For the joy of Yahweh our Elohim is our strength. And the sin offering reminds us to be cleanse of all defilement. We are not to touch any unclean things nor are we to consume anything unclean. For our calling is to be a set apart people who make a distinction between the clean and unclean.

Since the Scripture gives us written instructions regarding how to observe Rosh Chodesh, it is better for us to obey them as we obey other instructions.

By following the Biblical calendar, we observe the holy and set apart days as written in the Scripture. Indeed, the calendar marks important events in our lives: The week to the Shabbat, the month to Rosh Chodesh and the year to the festivals or Moedim.

Since we are in the world, but not part of the world, we order our worldly affairs according to the Gregorian calendar. But we must know about the Biblical calendar since the Gregorian calendar, although made by Pope Gregory XIII, is not Biblical at all. Although today is the 15th of December, it is not the time of the full moon. And although December was from the Latin Decem, it is not the 10th month but the 12th month.

It is never too late to start following the Biblical calendar, rather than just the pagan Gregorian calendar. The Biblical calendar is written in the Scripture and created in the stars above for us.

Happy New Month of Tevet.
Rosh Chodesh Sameach Tevet.
Chodesh Tov.

My God and your God

After His resurrection, but before His ascension, Yeshua HaMashiach said, " I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God." That's written in John 20:17. Of course, Yeshua HaMashiach has told them earlier, as written in John 14:28 that, "I am going to the Father, for My Father is greater than I." So Yeshua's God is our God and His Father is our Father. And Yeshua said that the Father is greater than Him. Blessed be Yahweh our Elohim and our Father.

And when Yeshua's disciples asked Him to teach them to pray, Yeshua taught them to say," Our Father in the heavens, let Your Name be set apart. " So Yeshua HaMashiach taught to pray to God, who is our Father. He is the same God that Yeshua cried out to, when impaled on the stake, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me." So we pray to Yahweh our Elohim who is our Father in the heavens.

And when the devil, the adversary, tempted Yeshua, He told the devil, "You shall worship Yahweh your Elohim, and Him alone you shall serve." So worship is directed to Yahweh our God.

The Apostles of Yeshua HaMashiach also taught that God is the Father of Yeshua HaMashiach. To the assembly in Rome, Shaul wrote, " Praise the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua HaMashiach. " That's written in Roman 15:6. And to the Corinthians, Shaul wrote, " The Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua HaMashiach." 2 Corinthians 11:31 And to the Ephesians, Shaul wrote, "Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua HaMashiach." To Shaul, God is the God and Father of our Master Yeshua HaMashiach.

And in 2 John 1:3 Yohanan wrote, " Favour, compassion, peace be with you from Elohim the Father, and from the Master Yeshua HaMashiach, the son of the Father, in truth and love. " So to Yohanan, God is the God and Father, Who is different from Yeshua HaMashiach, who is our Master.

And Peter, in 1 Peter 1:3 wrote, " Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua HaMashiach." So to the Apostle Peter, God is the God and Father of our Master Yeshua.

And Yehudah, in Jude 1 wrote that we were " called, set apart by Elohim the Father, and preserved in Yeshua HaMashiach. " So to Yehudah, God is the Father and is different from our Yeshua HaMashiach, who is our Master.

So Yeshua HaMashiach taught that His God is our God and His Father is our Father. And Yeshua's Apostles taught that the God of Yeshua HaMashiach is our God and our Father. And that is the plain truth as written in the Scripture

Baruch Haba Bshem Yahweh. And that means, "Blessed is He who is coming in the name of Yahweh." Come Yeshua HaMashiach, come.

HalleluYah!

There is one God

In Deut 6:4 , it is written, “Hear,O Yisrael: Yahweh our Elohim, Yahweh is one! And you shall love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might” And in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 12 and verse 9, it is written that Yeshua the Mashiach quoted this as the greatest commandment. So to Yeshua the Mashiach, Yahweh is our Elohim and Yahweh is one.

And Shaul, writing to Timothy, in 1 Timothy 2:5 said, “ For there is one Elohim, and one Mediator between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah Yeshua”. And to the assembly in Rome, Shaul wrote, in Romans 3:30 “since it is one Elohim who shall declare right the circumcised by belief and the uncircumcised through belief.” So to the great Apostle Shaul, there is one Elohim. One God.

Who is this One Elohim?

We read in Deut 6:4 that Yahweh is our Elohim. And in Deut 4:35 it is written ,”You have been shown it, to know that Yahweh Himself is Elohim; there is no one beside Him.” And in verse 39 it is written that “there is none else”. And in Psalm 86 verse 10, it is written,” For You are great, and are doing wonders; You are Elohim, you alone.” And there are many other passages that tells us that Yahweh is our Elohim and Him alone.

And what did Yehsua the Mashiach said about God?

In John 17:3 it is written,” And this is everlasting life, that they know You, the only true Elohim and Yeshua Messiah whom You have sent.” So here, Yeshua tells us that the true Elohim sent him as the Mashiach. And in Mark 12:9 Yeshua said that,”Yahweh is our Elohim”. And while being impaled on the stake, it is written in Matthew 27:46 that ,”Yeshua cried out with a loud voice, saying,”Eli, Eli, lemah shebaqtani? That is, “My God, my God,why have you forsaken Me?” So on the stake, Yeshua cried out to God. And after His resurrection Yeshua said in John 20:17 that ,”I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Elohim and your Elohim.” So Yeshua the Mashiach called the Father as His God and our God. And Yeshua the Mashiach taught His disciples to pray to “Our Father who is in the heavens”. And when Yeshua was tempted by the devil, Yeshua said in Matthew 4:10 that ,”You shall worship Yahweh your Elohim, and Him alone you shall serve.” And there were many other things that Yeshua the Mashiach said about God, who is our Father.

So there is one God and one only. And Yahweh is our God and no one else. If we have any other God besides Yahweh, we break the first and the second commandment. For Yahweh is our God and we are not to have any other gods beside Him.

HalleluYah! Praise be to Yah!

Cheshvan 29, 5781 (Novem 16th)

Today is the 29th day of Chesvan, the 8th month. In a normal year, Cheshvan has 29 days. So at sundown today will be Rosh Chodesh Kislev, the 9th month. It is the 9th month from the first month of Abib or Nissan.

The moon can be sighted at sundown today although there are many factors that can affect the sighting of moon. But the exact location of the moon can be plotted with mathematical precision.

Kislev, the 9th month of the Hebrew calendar, has 29 days. There are no Moedim or Appointed Times of Yahweh in 9th month except for the weekly 7th day Shabbat. However, Hanukkah or the Feast of Dedication will be from Kislev 25th to Tevet 2nd or December 11 - 18, 2020.

The mazal or constellation for the month of Kislev is Sagittarius (the archer).

The tribe for the month is Benjamin. The only child born in the Promised Land. The gemstone is opal.

Rosh Chodesh is Hebrew for the head of the month. It is not a shabbat day but it is a minor holiday. Do we celebrate Rosh Chodesh? If so, what are the written instructions for celebrating Rosh Chodesh?

The instructions for celebrating Rosh Chodesh are as follows :

1. Blow the shofar to welcome the new month. See Psalm 81: 3. If you don't have a shofar, just play one from the YouTube.

2. Breaking bread together. See 1 Samuel 20:5,24 and 27. This is not holy communion which is a Roman thing. But breaking of bread and drinking of wine together is a fellowship meal.

3. Have a set apart assembly. See Isaiah 1: 12- 14. In this times of covid 19, it is difficult to assemble together. But our Master Yeshua HaMashiach said that two or three can assemble in His Name.

4. Bringing of the offerings or korbanot to the temple: the burnt offering, the grain offering, the drink offering and the sin offering. Although the later is called sin offering, it is not for any transgression of the law. It is for cleansing from uncleanness or defilement. However since there is no temple in Yerushalayim, no korbanot can be offered. However, one day the temple will be rebuilt. This is one of the major prophetic event to look out for.

The Shabbat, the Festival and Rosh Chodesh were written about 276 times together in the Scripture. So if we observe the Shabbat and the Moedim, we should also observe Rosh Chodesh. After all, there are written instructions in the Scripture to tell us how to observe Rosh Chodesh.

There is a calender written in the Scripture for us to follow. With the Gregorian calendar we order our worldly affairs since we are in the world but not part of the world. With the Biblical Hebrew calendar we observe the holy and set apart days of Yahweh our Elohim.

Adonijah wannabe King

Adonijah was the fourth son of King David. His mother was Haggith. But King David also had other children from his other wives. And there was Solomon, whose mother was Bathsheba.

And King David was getting old and was not doing well. So David's children were eyeing the throne, especially Adonijah. He wannabe king.

After the death of Amnon and Absalom, Adonijah considered himself the heir-apparent to the throne. But there were procedures and protocol to be followed to become the king. And King David was still alive and that was his prerogative. But Adonijah, he wanna be the king. So he acquired chariots and a large entourage. Somehow, he got Joab, the commander of the army, to be on his side. And he needed a priest, and he got Abiathar. And Adonijah got the priest to offer the sacrifices. He invited the other princes but not Solomon. For Adonijah wannabe King and he knew he had to do it fast before King David appointed someone else. He knew he was usurping the throne by deceit and conspiracy. Would he be the king if that was not his destiny? For this would have consequences to the destiny of the nation of Israel.

But not everything were within his control. For Adonijah could not get Zadok to be his priest. Nor could he get Nathan, the court prophet, for he was loyal to King David. And Benaiah, the head of the King's bodyguards, were loyal to King David.

The prophet Nathan knew that King David had wanted Solomon to be the king after him. And David had promised that to Bathsheba. So Nathan prompted Bathsheba to remind King David of his promise. And David, he kept his word. And that's how Solomon became the king. And Solomon became the wisest and richest king of Israel.

Later, King Solomon pardon Adonijah. But Adonijah was one kind of a man. He asked for the girl Abishag. But King Solomon was not fooled by Adonijah. And that was how Adonijah got himself killed. What an ending for a wanna be king.

Times, they're a cyclical. Today, there are still those who wanna be king by deceit!

Good morning בוקר טוב.

How many commandments are there in the Scripture? Well, there are 613. They can be summarised to 10 and summarised further to 2. But to understand the 2: to love God and to love your neighbour, you have to know all the 613.

Do we have to obey all the 613 commandments? Well, based on the nature of the commandments, no one can obey all the 613 laws. How come? Well, some laws are for women. So all men cannot obey those. Likewise, some commandments are for men only and not for women. Some laws are for the High Priest only and some are for the priests. And since there is no temple, none of the laws regarding the temple can be carried out. So we obey only those laws that are applicable to us.

Is it difficult or burdensome to obey the laws? Well, if we say that its difficult, we are saying that God is a liar. For God said that His commandments are not difficult to obey. And Yeshua our Mashiach said that His yoke is easy and His burden light. All of these mitvot are for our blessings and benefit, so how can they be burdensome. After all, we can do all things through Yeshua HaMashiach, our Master. And the spirit of Elohim is helping us to obey the Torah, to live according to the yetzer ha'tov.

HalleluYah!
