Using a sugar image on a creamed cake? Don’t skip this important step.

Before placing the sugar image onto the cake, apply a thin protective layer of white chocolate or white fondant on the back of the sugar image.

This helps create a barrier between the sugar image and the moisture from the cream, so the image stays looking neat for longer.

Quick steps:

1. Peel off the plastic backing
2. Apply a thin layer of white chocolate or white fondant
3. Place the sugar image onto the cake
4. Press gently from the centre outwards

A small extra step can make a big difference to the final cake.

Save this post for your next sugar image cake!
