Korean Butter Tteok š¤
Crispy and lightly caramelised on the outside, but soft, chewy and satisfyingly QQ on the inside ā this is seriously addictive!
The buttery aroma is rich without being too heavy, and it tastes especially good when freshly baked. Slightly crisp outside, warm and chewy inside⦠perfect with a cup of iced coffee.
Best part? Itās much easier to make than it looks. Just prepare the ingredients and you can easily make it at home too š

INGREDIENTS
⢠200 ml fresh milk�
⢠30 g butter�
⢠50 g sugar�
⢠A pinch of salt�
⢠1/2 tablespoon vanilla essence�
⢠1 egg�
⢠160 g glutinous rice flour
METHOD
1. Heat the milk over medium heat. Add the butter and stir until fully melted.
2. In a separate bowl, combine the egg, sugar, salt, and vanilla essence. Mix until well combined.
3. Pour the warm milk and butter mixture into the bowl. Stir until evenly mixed.
4. Gradually add the glutinous rice flour, stirring continuously until the batter is smooth.
5. Strain the batter for a smoother texture.
6. Lightly grease the mould with butter.
7. Pour the batter into the moulds, but do not fill them too full.
8. Bake at 180°Cā185°C for 30ā40 minutes.
9. Once the tops are golden brown, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.ļæ½
