Mooncake is a Chinese bakery product traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Once in a while, don’t forget to look up into the sky and admire the moon in its full glory, for this is when it’s orbit brings it closest to Earth.
Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the four most important Chinese.
Is a traditional festival celebrated by the East Asian people (Chinese, Malaysian, Singaporean, Korean, Japanese, Thailand, Vietnamese, Indonesian of Chinese descendants). The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with a fullmoon at night, corresponding to mid-September to early October of the Gregorian calendar. This year it falls on the 1st of October 2020. On this day, the people believe that the moon is at its brightest and fullest size, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of Autumn.
