It's funny how life works sometimes.
I wasn't planning to make tiramisu.
Then the ladyfingers went on promotion.
A few days later... the mascarpone went on promotion, too.
At that point, I figured the universe was trying to tell me something. 😄
So today, I traded my laptop for a mixing bowl, brewed a good cup of coffee, and spent the afternoon creating my very first homemade tiramisu.
Was everything perfect?
Not quite. 😆
I realised my "instant coffee" was actually coffee bags... I forgot to buy icing sugar... questioned whether I had used too much cream... and then had to convince myself not to open the fridge every hour while it chills.
But maybe that's the beauty of trying something new.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
It just has to be made with curiosity, a little courage, and a willingness to learn.
Now comes the hardest part...
Waiting 24 hours before that very first spoonful. 🍰
Whether this becomes my family's new favourite dessert...
Or perhaps the beginning of a little side project one day...
I'll let tomorrow decide.
Until then, I'll simply enjoy the anticipation... because sometimes the journey is just as sweet as the destination.
Sometimes, the sweetest things begin with something as simple as saying... "Why not?" 🤎✨
