In January 2022, as many of you would know, I was baking from home as . By March 2022, I started back working fulltime and baking took a backseat. I was turning away customers as I just could not manage a fulltime job and baking as well. I had one particular customer who had ordered a cake for his wife and as he later would tell me, she loved it. So in January 2023, he asked if I could make her the same cake. Initially, I said yes but closer to the day, I had to sadly say no , due to an unexpected family engagement. He understood. Last month, he casually asked that if and when I do start baking, to let him know. I was touched and said I would knowing it wasn't likely to happen just yet. Then last week he asked for a cake for his mums 88th birthday. Mum's have a very special place in my heart so I said yes. Only to be told that he is expecting 50 pax! I am under no delusions with regards to my abilities and said I don't do big cakes. To which he says, OK, make 2? How does one say no to this? So bake I did, 2 Chocolate Orange cakes with Chocolate Ganache topping and filling between layers. He just sent me this. First pic is the 2 cakes and second is his message to me.

A little update for you. I'm back to fulltime work!! I will still happily bake for you lovely people on weekends and with a bit of notice.
