Layer Cake - Kueh Lapis.

Rich, buttery and moist, yet not overly greasy. It has just the perfect balance of mixed spices (i.e cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, & cardamom)and vanilla.

It is very laborious and time-consuming to bake this cake, layer by layer. It does need a few hours and attentiveness because these layer cakes are grilled one layer at a time at between 200 to 220°C. Grilled under the top heat of an oven until it is baked golden.

Baking a layer cake you will be hovering constantly by the oven– spread the batter thinly and grill till golden brown before the next layer is spread. This step is repeated 18-24 times in order to give the cake a richer flavour before the Legendary Aromatic Cake is Born.The aroma of this baking will fill the whole house👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥰,Yum yum😋.

Hence this cake is often considered a Labour of Love💓!
