A SMALL SHARING 🫶🏻
My baking journey began at home. I have always loved cakes, especially the comforting smell of a freshly baked butter cake. My mother used to bake a simple butter cake for us whenever we asked, and those moments slowly planted a love for baking in my heart.
When I was 17, I started baking cakes on my own. That was when baking slowly turned into my passion. I also learned a few tips from my sister-in-law, who is a professional baker. But back then, I never imagined that one day I would fully become a baker myself.
As time went on, life became busy with studies and work, and I stopped baking for a while. But the passion never left me. It was always there, quietly waiting inside me.
One day, I told my Amma that I wanted to do something for myself something I truly love and something that would make me feel proud of who I am. She encouraged me to pursue baking and chase my passion.
So I slowly started again, baking cakes for family members with the basic knowledge I had. Amma would always encourage me and remind me not to stop chasing my dreams. Whenever I received a small order, she would stand beside me in the kitchen and help me. She always told me, “No matter what happens, never stop doing this.”
After my marriage and when I became pregnant, I had to pause my small baking business for a while because I was staying at my mother-in-law’s house. But Amma kept reminding me not to give up on my passion. I promised her that one day I would learn more about baking and never give up on it.
When Amma passed away, I felt completely lost. I kept asking myself who would support me now and whether I could continue without her. There were so many questions in my heart.
But that was when my little sister stepped in and took on Amma’s role. She told me not to stop and promised that she would always support me. My husband also encouraged me to continue my baking journey. When we moved to JB, he told me to start slowly and keep going.
That was when I told my sister and my husband that I wanted to learn more about baking and attend professional classes. Without hesitation, they supported me and paid for me to attend this class.
All this time, I have been a self-taught baker. Today, I am attending my very first baking class.
This is not the end of my journey this is only the beginning.
I want to thank my sister and my husband for their love, support, and encouragement that gave me the courage to keep going.
And to my Amma… I hope you are proud of me. I promised you that I would never stop chasing my passion. And here I am in my 30s, still chasing the dream you believed in.
Amma, this journey is for you. ❤️
