Projek KWIH We also sell the kuihs for them! But why kuih? KWIH stands for Kuih Warisan Ihsan Haridepan. Kekadang as the world moves forward, some things gets left behind.

Projek KWIH is a social project by FriedChillies.com that reskills talented B40's into kuih entreprenuers so that everyone can play a part to help them out of poverty. Projek KWIH started as a project that finds long lost kuih recipes & secrets of making them tasty from old makcik's & pakciks in Malaysia. The main idea was always to reseed this knowledge to the less fortunate for them to use as a

tool for the improvement of themselves & their families. At FriedChillies.com, we found out that knowledge of Malaysia's kuih warisan makin lama makin tipis. The sad truth is that we know more about Red Velvet cakes & Butter Pecan pies than our own Kek Gula Hangus & Kuih Kesui's. But not many know that traditional, original and natural recipes to make these kuihs taste better than the best Red Velvet cakes out there. We are here to bring back that taste. Our Ihsan (Effort & Compassion) for our Haridepan (Future) generations. Well, that's the plan. Its not that we don't want to know our kuihs, but we believe that the information about these lovely kuih warisan's are not readily accessible to the general public. In the past 2 phases (2017 - 2019) Projek Kwih attempts to conserve these kuih warisans by making these recipes and petuas more accessible. We'd like to thank Yayasan Hasanah for helping make this happen! So we go to kampungs, villages and asks makciks, pakciks around Malaysia for recipes that are hampir pupus, video them, capture the recipes and put them here so that we get people to be more interested in our warisan kuih making. In 2020, due to Covid19 where a lot more people are falling into the B40 group, this work has become more important. We are reseeding this knowledge back to the community and this time we are using it to help countless people impacted by Covid19 to earn a living through kuih making. Starting with an initial talented group of 30 people in Gombak & Puchong. Follow our FB & Join the movement!

Meet the kids of one of our kwih vendor Kak Ina from Subang Jaya as they will be serving delicious homemade kuih and freshly fried pisang goreng and keropok lekor. Hi KWIH fans. We had received news of the sudden passing of our beloved Kak Latifah yesterday. She was battling with some health issues and decided to return back to Kuching where she managed so spent her last days with family and friends. Hi KWIH fans. Did you miss us? First, would like to Thank our fans for your support during our stint at Muzium Telekom KL. We will be heading to MATIC KL this weekend for “Hari Belia Negara 2022 Peringkat Bukit Bintang” on 24th September 2022. Come and join us as we will serve and whole range of traditional Kuihs and other Malay dishes beginning 7 AM – 10 PM.
