Taking the leap of faith, in 2014, the founders, Dominic Hii and Elgin Chuah decided to quit from engineering and accounting industries to create Secret of Baking fr
om scratch, starting with home kitchen. The philosophy is to ensure authentic products in the taste, variety and price for the neighborhood. In the period of 2015, an iconic Baking Cart moving around the New World Park Food Court, Penang, suddenly became famous among locals and tourists. Customers are fascinating waiting for the cart to stop by their dining tables. People started to recognize the good taste of our products and the spirit of bake with passion, serve with heart. Trust rooted and demand increased over time. The engineering knowledge and accounting management background came into place building Secret of Baking pieces by pieces. Influenced by the family, education, and cultural background, Secret of Baking produces three main categories: Cakes, Pastries and Nyonya Kuih, a perfect blend and touch of Asian, Peranakan and Western. Later, in August 2020, Secret of Baking setup a small bakery kitchen in Fortune Court, Farlim, another milestone of the bakery journey. Subsequently, in February 2021, this Bakery shop is opened to serve the locals during the Chinese New Year. It wasn’t plan, however, the move, eventually evolving into the decision of open up the kitchen into sales outlet from now on, and close down the sales kiosk in New World Park Food Court. Into the future, with our purpose and passion, with customers in mind, we take action to serve you for years to come.
