For a long time, I thought growth meant scaling, more orders, more people, more revenue. And yes, I experienced all of that. From baking alone after work to running a full team, expanding into B2B and OEM… it looked like everything was working.
But what I didn’t realise then was this:
as the business grows, so must you.
Not just in skill or strategy,
but in emotional and mental capacity.
And somewhere along the way, I stopped checking in with myself.
I kept going, kept pushing, kept holding everything together.
Until one day, I had to admit,
it was no longer coming from the same place.
Walking away wasn’t a failure.
It was an honest decision.
And maybe that’s something we don’t talk about enough in entrepreneurship,
that you’re allowed to outgrow something you once loved.
Right now, I’m in a season of rebuilding.
Slowing down. Reflecting. Learning how to begin again.
If you’re navigating something similar,
I’ll be sharing more thoughts, lessons, and honest stories about entrepreneurship (the parts people don’t always see) on my Substack. Link in profile ⬆️
