A joyous occasion of which we were a part...a white-themed solemnization on a sun-kissed Saturday.

Aman Nazmi weds Hadeeqah.

His mum is a Perlis gal like me.
His dad was colleagues with Hanafy during Affin Bank days.
And more importantly, he and Raziq are best buddies from...well, since they were babies!

Alhamdulillah, with just one utterance, Aman Nazmi became Hadeeqahs'.

A new start to a wonderful journey...and filled with much love and blessings.

Proud moment when he referred to us as his "second parents".🥰

Thank you, Zirah & Karim for including us to witness this moment.

Two public programmes.
Same topic.
Completely different outcomes.
Last week, I facilitated two Communication programmes.
Both were requested about two months earlier.
One was conducted virtually over two separate dates.
The other was a two-day face-to-face programme.
The virtual programme was confirmed five weeks before delivery.
Three weeks before the first session, I received a message from the Training Provider:
"All four sessions are sold out."
My first reaction?
😳
Seriously?
All four sessions?
The TP then asked whether I would allow additional participants before they started turning people away.
Of course, I said yes.
We eventually had 28 participants in each session.
The face-to-face programme?
It proceeded with three participants.
And honestly, that didn't bother me.
I've facilitated sessions with hundreds of participants.
I've also facilitated sessions with just a handful.
Meaningful learning can happen in both.
What got me thinking wasn't the class size.
It was what happened before the training.
Both programmes focused on Communication.
Both relied heavily on digital marketing.
Emails.
Social media.
Online promotions.
Yet the market responded very differently.
Why?
Was it the delivery mode?
The frequency of promotion?
The audience being targeted?
The way the programme was positioned?
I don't have all the answers.
But it reminded me of something important:
Training doesn't begin when participants enter the room.
It begins when they first hear about the programme.
Food for thought.

Back in April 2026, I had the privilege of facilitating 2 topics — Organizational Agility and Operational Leadership — for a cohort of young Branch Managers from across Malaysia as part of a Leadership Development Program for a local government-linked bank.

Many of them were still relatively new in their roles. Bright, driven, and navigating the realities of leading teams while balancing operational expectations, policy implementation, and people management.

And honestly, topics like “organizational agility” can feel very distant at branch level.

So facilitative trainer mode came on 😊

The conversations became less about theories and more about realities:

* managing underperformers and over-achievers,
* moving teams through change,
* leading with confidence,
* and learning how to project the best version of themselves as leaders.

And yes… I introduced them to my EMPATI framework too 😉

What made the sessions meaningful for me was this:
I had personally lived through many of the situations they shared.

So beyond frameworks, we spoke about experience.
What worked.
What failed.
What needed adjusting.
And what leadership looks like in real life — not just on slides.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr Zainol Abdul Rani for the trust and opportunity.

I advocate lifesharing—bringing real-life practices into how we teach and how we lead.

A recent training experience that truly felt like a *BreakAway* moment for me.

I had the opportunity to facilitate *The Pyramid Principle* training for Delivery Hero @ foodpanda — and honestly, I went into it feeling both excited and challenged.

The programme is based on Barbara Minto’s renowned methodology, and initially, I was informed that the participants would be line leaders: Unit Managers and Assistant Managers.

Then came a pleasant surprise.

Even before the first session started, the client confirmed a second group consisting of senior leaders.

Different groups. Different dynamics.
But both shared one thing in common — genuine curiosity and a strong desire to apply the learning back at work.

What stood out most was how engaged they were from the very beginning. The discussions were thoughtful, the questions were sharp, and the conversations felt incredibly alive.

Personally, the timing was interesting too. I had just been recovering from a bad flu and cough before the sessions began. But somehow, once I stood in front of the room, the energy shifted. Their positivity and openness made the experience genuinely enjoyable and energising.

Moments like these remind me why I enjoy facilitative training:
When people are willing to think, question, and connect ideas to real workplace situations, learning becomes meaningful.

And this experience reaffirmed something for me — I definitely want to continue growing *The Pyramid Principle* together with my EMPATI framework as part of how I help professionals communicate with greater clarity, structure, and impact.

What a meaningful 2 days this turned out to be.

I recently conducted a training on English Communication in Business & E-mail Writing for a group of security personnel from Allied Resources.

Truth be told, I was initially apprehensive because the programme had originally been designed for executives and administrative personnel.

But the participants completely changed my perspective.

The energy, participation, humour, and willingness to learn were amazing to witness. Conversations flowed naturally and the classroom quickly became a space of shared learning.

One of my favourite moments was during a presentation activity called The Pirates. A former navy personnel in the group described ships, masts, hulls, and docking terminology with such passion that all of us felt transported onto the ship itself.

It was one of those moments that reminded me:
People shine when they feel respected, included, and connected to the learning.
There was learning.
There was laughter.
And there were many memorable moments.

Thank you, Allied Resources and , for the opportunity. ✨

Tak pa lah, lari dari monyet bertempa dengan unta!

Selamat Hari Raya, everyone.

Already 2nd Syawal and suddenly Ramadhan didn't seem to fly by so fast anymore!

Diam tak diam dah masuk bulan akhir suku pertama tahun ini.

Time for the 4Rs:-
**Revisit,
***Reflect,
****Review, and
*****Revise.

Our goals, our aspirations, and our strategies.

I also picked up pointers on personal branding from fellow trainers during the slo-mo period, which I will surely and slowly project.

May all that we want to achieve be what are meant to be for us.

Be safe, people. Stay healthy and above all, forever remain grateful.

An apple a day, keeps the doctor away.
Kalau apple fritters, keep apa pulak away, ?

Verdict?

Sedap doh! Terasa the different textures. Slight crunch of the batter, with a caramelised after taste. The apples softened just nice, masih rasa solid isi apple. And yes, only use green apples (granny smith), please. The glaze gave that final punch to the fritters.

Would I make this again? Yes.

For this one, I used a whole bag of granny smith, and kept the flour and other ingredients measurement. Hence, apples were not fully coated.

As for the glaze, I mixed half and half of lime juice and water. Tak derhaka recipe; that's how I was taught to make a sugar glaze.

So which of KA's next, Cik Ana oiii? Tungguuuu...

Till then, be safe, folks. Be consistent and above all, be grateful always.

Bila freezer sarat dengan ayam...

Ayam Pop versi KA terjadi versi Ana Rashid!

Verdict?

Not bad, and will make this again.

And when I do make again, I will:
- rendam the chicken in coconut water for 30 minutes before turning the burner on;
- cook in coconut water for some minutes before adding santan;
- cook them longer (I was trying not to let the santan+coconut water pecah minyak...hence shortened the cooking)
- for the sambal, lessen quantity of cili padi (KA uses 15, I used 10 and even then, heat level pedas hap hap!)
- will add more oil before blitzing the chillies and all
- for the santan sauce, cook it longer after adding corn starch (I had to add a lot of this to thicken the consistency)

Raihanah had seconds during iftar and that says a lot of this dish.✅✅ Raziq had his second helping for his moreh.✅✅

So yup, this is another keeper recipe from ( ? ). Definitely making this again.

What among KA's recipes have you tried?

Ana Rashid

Note: noticed that KA mentioned to add 3 cups of coconut water to the chicken but his video showed he poured only 2...hmmmm...
