Just received very sad news that Mike passed away this morning 😭

I talked to him last week and I knew he was not well. Still…heartbreaking.

Gonna miss you sweet friend. Thanks for all the laughs and being there when I needed to talk. RIP 💔

This is my friend Mike. He was one of my first customers at SUGAR. He came for coffee and conversation almost every day. He’s become one of my closest friends. I’ve made countless other friends, beyond even my wildest dreams when I opened 5 years ago. I am so grateful to friends and family who got me started, and all my wonderful customers I’ve meet and got to know through my pastries. One of those friends, Sarah Hurd is taking over and has big things planned for the little bakery downtown. Mike approves and I feel like I can move on to my next big adventure without regrets. Welcome to the home page of Sugar Mamma Mexico, Formerly Sugar Bakery in Angels Camp. We had 5 great years in Downtown Angels, but a once in a lifetime opportunity to relocate led to the sale of Sugar Bakery. A fantastic new coffee shop and bakery has taken over the location, Lemon Tree Bakery!

Good job! A princess cake! From Wikipedia: “Princess cake (Swedish: prinsesstårta) is a traditional Swedish layer cake or torte consisting of alternating layers of airy sponge cake, pastry cream, and a thick-domed layer of whipped cream. The cake is covered by a layer of marzipan, giving it a smooth rounded top. The marzipan overlay is usually green, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and often decorated with a pink marzipan rose. The cake was originally called grön tårta (green cake), but was given the name prinsesstårta or "princess cake" because the princesses were said to have been especially fond of the cake.
