To everyone who thinks baking custom cakes is "easy money" because of the videos I post...
Many of you know that I work full-time in aviation. Baking isn't my full-time job—it's my passion and my part-time business. I'm grateful to be able to do both, but it comes with a lot of sacrifice.
What you see is only the final result. What you don't see are the long hours, the sleepless nights, the stress, and the hard work behind every single cake.
A custom cake isn't just mixing flour, butter, eggs, and sugar. Before I even start baking, I spend time discussing ideas with clients, designing the cake, planning colours and decorations, shopping for ingredients, preparing toppers, and making decorations that sometimes need days to dry.
Then comes baking, making fillings, stacking layers, crumb coating, chilling, covering with fondant or buttercream, decorating every detail, packaging carefully, and finally delivering it safely. One custom cake can easily take 9 to 15hours of work, sometimes spread over 1 or 2 days.
While many people are sleeping, I'm still decorating until late at night. While others are just waking up, I'm already back in the kitchen finishing orders before heading to my full-time job.
Nothing was handed to me. Every achievement comes from sacrifice, discipline, consistency, and countless hours of hard work.
Instead of counting someone else's money, count the hours, the effort, the missed sleep, the sore feet, and the dedication it took to earn it.
Having a full-time job doesn't stop anyone from chasing their dreams. If you have a passion, don't let anyone discourage you. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Find something you love, work hard, stay consistent, and create your own success.
To everyone who supports Les délices de Yovana shares my work, trusts me with your special moments, and encourages me—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support means more than you know. ❤️
