This year marked my 5th year making Assumption cakes.

And somehow, this year, I made more than I ever have before.

The past month hasn’t been an easy one for me. There has been a lot happening behind the scenes, and there were many moments where I honestly wondered how I was going to keep up with everything.

But I did.

I kept showing up. I kept baking. I kept decorating.

Every single one of these cakes was baked and decorated by me.

And while I may have done the baking and decorating, I couldn’t have done this without my parents. Their support and help behind the scenes have made all of this possible, especially during the busiest days.

Looking at this now, I’m tired, but I’m also incredibly proud and grateful.

Thank you to every single person who supported me, ordered from me, trusted me with your celebrations, or simply cheered me on. It means more than you know. 🤍

A look back at the cakes that have left the MishCakes kitchen over the past two weeks.

Looking back at them all, I’m reminded of how much can be achieved with consistency, determination and a love for what you do.

MishCakes started with a simple love for baking and a dream I carried for a long time.

Chapter 1 was building MishCakes while working full time in finance. During the day, I was working in office, and in every free moment I had, I was baking, learning, experimenting, and slowly growing this little dream.

Chapter 2 began on 31 July 2024, when I closed my finance chapter after 7 years and decided to give MishCakes my full attention.

This chapter brought new experiences, opening my shop, becoming a full time business owner, learning everything that comes with running a business, and turning something I built on the side into my everyday life.

It has not been easy. There have been long nights, early mornings, moments of doubt, and moments where I looked around and felt proud of how far I had come.

Behind every cake is not just a recipe or a design. There is time, effort, learning, and a little piece of me.

And now, Chapter 3 begins.

A new chapter with new challenges, new goals, and new opportunities to grow.
