Leo Confectionery

Leo Confectionery was founded by Saviour Cassar in 1954 who continued running the confectionery till he reached his retiring age. Ten years ago, his son Christopher Cassar, took over the operations of the confectionery and continued baking traditional Maltese sweets using the old, genuine recipes inherited from his parents. The oven of the confectionery dates back to 1854 and is one of the only fe

w remaining Maltese traditional wood fired oven. Since it is run purely on wood, the open fire releases unique natural flavours in food. It was in the early 1970's that bakery was bought by Leo Confectionery while in 2001 the confectionery underwent extensive renovation to better accommodate the needs of an always increasing demand for our products. It is good to note that the actual oven has never been touched in these repairs and renovations. The oven is fifteen feet long and thirteen feet wide. Our products are sold at:

Tuesday – Zebbug open market from 07.30 to 11.00

Saturday – Qormi open market from 07.30 to 11.00

Tuesday and Saturday – Ta' Qali farmers market from 07.30 to 12.00

We also sell our products through fixed routes in Rabat (on Tuesdays) , San Gwann and San Giljan (on Wednesdays) and are also available at several established supermarkets around Malta. For more information, please contact us.
