Yvonne, the owner of Desiree’s International School (which I attended when I was small), ordered this cake for her wedding reception.
I gave her the lowest possible price, and even when she asked for a discount, I agreed — only because I had studied at her school.

After the event, when I wanted to collect the dummy cakes (after 2–3 days), she said she still needed them to take more photos. I was completely fine with that and didn’t charge extra for keeping them longer.

But recently, when I asked for the dummies back, she refused to return them and gave me her husband’s number. When I contacted him, he casually said he had thrown them away!

Honestly, I never thought they could be such cheap people — throwing away my dummies without even informing me, after I gave them extra time out of kindness.

Why do some people misuse politeness? Should I just make this a lesson learned and stop being so flexible?
