What a blessing and honour to celebrate a true icon of Kenya an author, actress, broadcaster, freedom fighter, and trailblazer for women. Your life’s work has told our stories, uplifted voices, and inspired generations. From Fighting Without Ceasing to Passbook Number F. 47927, your writings have preserved our history and courage.
I have deeply honoured to create many of your birthday cakes. But your 100th birthday cake, commissioned by your daughters Sopiato and Jane, tops it all. I first met you in person in 1975 through your daughter, my dear friend Jane Nkini and year-mate at The Kenya high school. You've always amazed me with your gifts.
Maitu, your century of wisdom, resilience, and service is a shining light to us all. May God bless you with joy and peace as we celebrate this remarkable milestone.
