When comparing cake prices, the flavour is only one part of the equation.

The size, filling, design, finish and amount of work that goes into the cake can all affect the final price.

So if two chocolate cakes aren't the same price, that doesn't necessarily mean one is “too expensive” — the cakes themselves may not be the same.

What they asked for vs what they got. 🎂💙
This is the story of a 1kg blueberry cake — and a client relationship that has lasted six years.
She reached out on Wednesday afternoon/evening for a cake that needed to be ready by Friday afternoon. That was definitely a tighter timeline than our usual cake-ordering window.
But having worked with her and her family for years, I was happy to accommodate her.
What made this last-minute cake much easier to execute was that she had the design, flavour and all the necessary details ready, and she made her deposit promptly.
So I got to work.
And the result? A beautiful blueberry cake that arrived at her home on time and perfectly intact. 💙

I like to imagine this is how the referral happened. 😂
