Breastfeeding the correct way is mainly about getting a deep latch and a comfortable position.
Step 1: Position Your Baby
Hold your baby tummy-to-tummy with you.
Baby's ear, shoulder, and hip should be in a straight line.
Bring the baby to your breast, not your breast to the baby.
Step 2: Get a Deep Latch
Tickle your baby's upper lip with your ni**le.
Wait for a wide open mouth (like a yawn).
Quickly bring baby onto the breast.
Baby should take in the ni**le and a large part of the ar**la, especially the lower part.
Signs of a Good Latch
✅ No pain after the first few seconds
✅ Baby's lips are flanged outward
✅ Chin touching the breast
✅ You hear swallowing sounds
✅ Baby's cheeks stay rounded, not sucked in
