Good evening, my fellow survivors.
Let’s talk honestly for a minute.
How many of you run a business where you’re busy every single day, answering clients, fixing problems, adding “small things,” staying up late trying to keep everyone happy… yet the money doesn’t seem to reflect the effort?
That’s what I call the toilet economy.
A toilet is busy all day. Everyone brings their problems. Everyone leaves relieved.
But at the end of the day… the toilet is still a toilet.
Many business owners are stuck in this cycle.
A client asks for a discount. You say yes.
They add more work. You say yes again.
They delay payment. You send polite reminders and hope they respond.
Before you know it, your business has turned into a vampire rehabilitation center where clients feed on your time, energy, and profit until they feel better.
Meanwhile you’re exhausted.
Truth is, most of this stops the moment you introduce a few things:
Contracts.
Clear scope of work.
Firm pricing.
And the courage to say one powerful word.
No.
I recorded a video about this today because too many good entrepreneurs are burning themselves out trying to please clients who don’t respect their work.
If you run a business, freelance, consult, design, cater, or sell services… this conversation will probably hit very close to home.
And now I’m curious.
What’s the craziest excuse a client has ever given you for delaying payment?
Let’s hear the stories.
