A Generational Recipe Only Found In Jersey. The twist and recipe can vary from parish to parish. Wonders by Babs is also a proud member of Genuine Jersey.

Barbara has been making and supplying Jersey wonders for decades now, honing her recipe and technique which all started in the family farm kitchen. A traditional Jersey recipe passed down from generation to generation, the Jersey wonder is a sweet dough made with flour, sugar, butter and eggs then twisted and cooked in oil. Barbara was encouraged for many years to branch out and to bring Jersey wo

nders to locals and tourists alike. She subsequently supplied and became involved with Jersey tourist attractions such as the Jersey War Tunnels, noticing a big demand for this local delicacy. This brought her to launch Wonders by Babs which aims to not only supply delicious Jersey Wonders to those who want them but also keep this traditional Jersey delicacy alive for generations to come. A produce carrying their mark is a guarantee of local provenance. Traditionally Wonders are an Easter treat, but why would you restrict something so scrumptious to once a year?! Wonders by Babs can cater for any function and can provide a wholesale supply service to any outlet if required. As an alternative, you can now purchase a Wonder from the honesty box outside the front door made fresh DAILY!

Well, that’s a wrap!

From the bottom of my heart I’d like to thank each and every one of you for all of your support over the last 9 years!

It’s been quite a journey getting the Jersey Wonder back on the map. From a humble honesty box through to commercial clients and 4am starts - it’s been a rollercoaster of a ride but I wouldn’t have changed a thing!

This isn’t a goodbye, but simply a “see you soon” … keep your eyes peeled for pop ups and markets in the future, but for now I’m hanging up my apron and having a well earned break to spend some time with my 2 (about to become 3) grandchildren

*important update - please read*

To all my wonderful customers,

I would like to let you know that the time has come for Wonders by Babs to close the door and hang up her apron.

These past few years have been amazing. I have met some wonderful people and have enjoyed every second of providing you with our jersey wonders and donuts.

It’s time now for my husband and I to make some changes to enable us to spend more time with our family and enjoy the three grandchildren we are being blessed with this year.

Thank you all for your continued support and for making these last few years memorable.

My last working day will be the 31st of August, orders taken as usual until then.

I wanted to give you all notice that the honesty box and treat box will be closed from Monday 15th April and will re-open Thursday 16th May.
