The imposing building in the picture is of Lal Ded Memorial School. The building belonged to Roop Singh ,then his son Kishen Singh and later Rattan Singh.
Lal Ded School was founded by renowned poet Dina Nath Nadim in 1947. The school was famous for many great teachers of the time.
The last known Principal of the school was Makhan Lal sir. With the time passing, the number of students also started decreasing. The school was shifted to a much smaller building in the area.
The upper two storeys of this building were dismantled and renovated and later converted into Lal Ded Memorial Cultural Centre for exhibitions.
