Creme. A small corner in Ahdoos Hotel that had long been a bakery for the locals of the locals by the locals has, in the last couple of years, metamorphosed into a cross between Wengers and Flury’s, without the vast real estate. Genius entrepeneur saw the potential in the little store and took it over. Now, it always has a cosy, compelling mix of trekkers, long distance bikers, local journalists. Somehow, the locals that go upstairs to Ahdoos restaurant have not made this space their haunt, so, you’ll see researchers and ethnographers like in the throes of putting together their research papers and journalists feverishly exchanging the latest political gossip sotte voce. Cream buns, cold coffee, Shrewsbury biscuits, chicken patties in the mould of Candies (Mumbai) and Flury’s. It is the most central spot in the entire city. Every three-wheeler driver knows where Ahdoos is and all shopping is a short walk away. #
