I was a homemaker, waking up each day to the familiar rhythm of my household. My mornings used to be filled with the aroma of freshly baked cakes and cookies. Baking was my passion, a creative outlet that brought joy to my family. But due to some personal issues, I had to put my baking on hold.
A few years ago, our lives took an unexpected turn. We discovered that my son was allergic to gluten. This revelation was a game-changer. Suddenly, he could no longer enjoy the regular breads, cookies, and other wheat-based treats he loved. It was heart-wrenching to see my six-year-old struggle to understand why he couldn’t have chapati, bread, cookies, pizzas, and more.
We began to avoid parties and restaurants, wanting to spare him the pain of watching other kids indulge in pizzas, breads, and burgers while he was limited to dosas and idlis. But this wasn’t a sustainable solution. My son was tired of the same foods, and I was determined to find a way to bring joy back to his meals.
I started ordering gluten-free products from the market, but they were often loaded with preservatives and chemicals. I didn’t want to feed my son anything that wasn’t natural or healthy. That's when it hit me: I could use my baking skills to create gluten-free goodies at home.
My baking journey began anew, this time with a focus on gluten-free treats. I experimented with different flours and recipes, ensuring that everything I made was free from chemicals and preservatives. Slowly but surely, I perfected my craft, creating delicious gluten-free breads, cookies, and cakes that my son loved.
I'm glad that my son inspired me to get back into baking. Now, I can provide him with tasty, healthy treats made from high-quality ingredients. My kitchen is once again filled with the delightful scents of fresh baked goods, and my heart is full, knowing that my son can enjoy his food without worry.
