Our story

Raja Barley Biscuit Company, the first Barley Biscuit Company in Tamil Nadu was founded in the year 1926 by Mr.A.Sangu Pillai at Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu. Later, his son Mr. S.Mari Muthu, opened a bakery at Nethaji Road, Madurai-Tamil Nadu. Mr. S.Mari Muthu, a visionary of his times, embarked on business travel to USA and many European countries to learn the Art of Baking and duly introduced various new flavors of cakes and pastries with his baking finesse acquired from the Western World.

Few more branches were promptly added with rising demand from patrons, over the ensuing years in Madurai at Goripalayam and B.B Kulam. BreadnBrown - A Modern Bakery cm Café opened its doors at By-Pass Road on September 5, 2014 with the vision to present a unique experience for the young generation (Millennials) from the House of Raja Barley and has lived up to its vision.

BreadnBrown’s patrons have kept the business glowing and the brand has caught up with the target audience rather well unassumingly, with its spread of mouthwatering cakes and pastries, the ambience and the menu draws patrons each business day and we are more than just glad and thankful to serve and make a difference to all our patrons who stop by to treat themselves completely.
