🧿To the mom up in the middle of the night, rocking her baby, trying to keep it together… I see you.
You’re running on empty. Your shirt is stained with milk, your hair hasn’t been washed in days, and your body feels like it’s not even yours anymore. You’re breastfeeding around the clock, or washing pump parts at 2 AM with one eye half open. And still, the baby won’t sleep.
You scroll through your phone in the dark, wondering if you’re the only one who feels this tired, this stretched thin, this close to breaking. You’re not. So many of us are right there with you…trying to soothe a baby while silently wishing for just one night of uninterrupted sleep. Trying to pour from an empty cup. Trying to remember who we even are outside of “mom.”
Motherhood is beautiful, yes. But it’s also heavy. It’s crying in the bathroom for five minutes just to breathe. It’s second-guessing yourself. It’s loving your baby so deeply it hurts, while also wishing someone else could take over just for a little while.
If no one has told you lately: you’re doing amazing. Being exhausted doesn’t make you weak. Feeling burnt out doesn’t make you a bad mom. It makes you human.
So tonight, as you rock and feed and shush in the dark, know that you’re not alone. We’re all out here in our own living rooms, bedrooms, and nurseries, fighting the same fight, loving the same way, surviving the same season.
One day the nights will get easier. But tonight, give yourself grace. You’re enough. 💕🧿
A note to myself 📝
