Woman with a Mango, Paul Gauguin.

Came across this painting and was reminded of the statistic that’s been floating around of how India grows the most mangoes in the world but exports less than 1% of them, the fruit too precious, too entwined in our lives for it to be given away.

Also known as ‘Vahine no te vi’, this is French painter Gauguin’s 1892 Post-Impressionist oil painting, created during his first Tahitian visit.

A bright, floral glass of bubbly to while away the summer, the Fleur de Paradis is an advanced cocktail, and so worth the effort. Mix a measure of your favourite gin with a dash of elderflower liqueur, pink grapefruit juice, simple syrup and a squeeze of lime.

A cocktail aficionado always has Angostura Orange Bitters, and knows how it effortlessly elevates flavours - add it in if you have it, and shake all the ingredients over ice.

The bubbles come from champagne/sparkling wine of your choice, that top off the glass at the very end. Et voilà!

Pair this with our Flourless Chocolate Orange Cake, that celebrates the Orange Bitters. A fudgy, decadent dessert that goes perfectly with a drink in hand.
