It is cake time of the year again! Not that there is a specific day for eating a cake. Everyday is cake day when you have a yummy cake to indulge in. But as the year winds down to its last month, it is time to celebrate and be grateful to everything thats happened. Above all, it is Christmas! The universal holiday season!
I love December, because it fills my home and heart with the warmth of love of dear ones and the heavenly fragrance of Christmas baking. The fragrance of cinnamon and mixed spices, along with rum plumped dry fruits makes me smile already. Gajar Ka Halva

Years ago when I first had , it did nothing to me. I saw it as this gooey orange mess that was a bit too sweet for my taste. And so, decided to steer clear of it. But at any functions or parties or buffet I attended, there it was standing proud. People around me raved about it and relished it with vanilla ice cream.

Well, if gajar ka halva has won so many hearts(taste buds) surely my first taste of it has been wrong. So I adventurously ventured to taste it again. This time, I actually liked it. I realised that I like my gajar ka halva when it is not too sweet and is cooked with just the right amount of ghee.

Presenting à la Vidya mode. Garnished with slivers of almonds and cashews, this is one bowl of orangee goodness that I can never tire off.

Amma, you make the world's best Pizza... Gushed my little one, when I surprised everyone with homemade Pizza for dinner. His excitement came from the fact that it had been a long time since we ordered in Pizza and with the Corona lock down, any chances of eating one was remote. Who am I to complain when the road to happiness is indeed straight and easy.

I sourced recipes from Pinterest for a good pizza crust and a pizza sauce - some toppings later, the Pizza was ready. What all kind? Margarita for sure, as that's Kannan's (my little one) favourite. Sausage and chicken for Unni (my elder one). For extra indulgence, I made a cheese burst crust. Need I say more? The pizzas were polished off in no time.
