Being a mother is not easy. Being an entrepreneur is more difficult. Meet Lora Ray, owner of Lora’s Baked Basket, who has successfully done both. She is a renowned home baker based in Hyderabad and a full time mom of two kids.
From past 6 years, Lora Ray is a home baker in Hyderabad and working with different corporate for baking. Her journey from being an electronics engineer, MBA and working for an MNC to being a home baker is quite a unique one.
She was exposed to the world of fresh baked confectioneries during her stay in Mexico. When she returned back to Hyderabad, she had always longed for the same quality and taste and was utterly disappointed with use of artificial flavors and colors here. Her deep love for these baked goodies and my search for more natural flavors which she could not find in Hyderabad back then, pushed her to try baking myself and producing goodies on her own. Her baking skill not only surprised everyone, and they all started asking for more flavors. Eventually, her subtle interest became her passion and she dived into the world of baking.
When she started with baking , over the period of time, the orders became more complex with party orders and designs. This pushed her into the new area of cake decorations. New, Complex and Innovative designs and demand from her clients pushed her out of her comfort zone and became a stepping stone of learning new things.Her love for baking has made her sail through initial hiccups of the business.
