Turns out, even the girl who’d pick tiramisu over mithai any day has her moments!

I’ve never been big on indian sweets, but like my late grandpa, I have my rare cravings. Today is one of those days: his birthday.

Suddenly, I’m back in my school days up north, watching mom wash and peel endless carrots. I’d sneak bites of the grated carrots and bolt before she could catch me (sorry mom!). The whole house would fill with the smell of cardamom and sweet carrots simmering away. That’s when grandpa would finally emerge from his room, leaving behind his books and articles. Such is the power of mum’s cooking!

Fast forward to today: my arms are sore from grating what felt like a mountain of carrots, and I finally get why mom gave me that look every time I stole handfuls. Also hitting me now, just how much love and effort went into every bowl.

Taking small bites, remembering him, and celebrating the way he would’ve loved most. 🧡

Life’s sweetest moments, like these shortbreads, are meant to be shared. As 2025 comes to a close, one memory keeps calling me back:

Picture this: Four of us crammed into an auto with me sitting on my sister’s lap while she plugs in her MP3 player. She hands me one earphone, presses play, and suddenly... Paradise. The Coldplay song hits different - instant goosebumps, the kind that tells you this moment matters.

Fast forward 15 years: I’m at Wembley Stadium, surrounded by thousands, but all I can think about is that cramped auto ride and my sister’s shared earphones. When Paradise started playing, those same goosebumps came rushing back, except this time, I’m living out my actual lifelong dream.

Being away from home taught me that music isn’t just sound - it’s comfort, memory, home. And getting to share this core memory with the family I’ve made away from home? That made it even more special than I could’ve imagined.

Some dreams are worth the 15-year wait. ✨
Huuuge thanks to Davo for making it happen!

Sometimes the universe just gets it right. This year, I found more than flatmates - I found family, thousands of miles from where I started.

Terry and Andrew made every evening magical with impromptu guitar sessions, stories, laughter that followed, and in those moments, I’d think “wow, I’m so lucky.”

Then came Davo’s legendary Christmas roast! The love he poured into every dish just so I could experience a traditional homemade Christmas dinner made my heart so full. Between the cooking, the laughter, and Terry’s music floating through the house, the whole day felt like a hug. And the food? Absolutely divine!

We demolished EVERYTHING, followed by the most legendary food coma ever!!

Now I’m celebrating a bit further away, mulled wine in hand 🍷, but carrying every warm memory with me.

To Terry, Andrew, and Davo: you showed me that home isn’t a place - it’s the people who make you feel like you belong. Thank you for the best Christmas ever.

Wishing you all a Christmas filled with love, laughter that echoes after, and people who remind you what home feels like! 🎄 🏡

What a night! I partied with legends, literally!

Jesus brought the wine, the Hardy Boys brought championship energy, and Mia Wallace & Vincent Vega brought all the iconic vibes. Even Frida Kahlo stopped by!
But the REAL stars? Ish*ta and Dhurbo, surrounded by the most amazing group of humans. I’d been hearing stories about this crew for years over phone calls, building them up in my head, and somehow, they were even better in person! The kind of friends who’ll nail a dramatic couples pose and then immediately break into chaos mode.

Making up for all those parties we missed? ✅
Meeting the legendary friend group? ✅
Watching the legendary Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega dance live? ✅

Oh, and because I’m physically incapable of attending a party empty-handed, I whipped up these last-minute mini chocolates, carefully tempered with love to celebrate these two beautiful humans!

10/10 would party with icons again. Especially these ones!

I’ve cut more cakes this month than I have in the past 3 years. Birthday cakes. Celebration cakes. “It’s Tuesday” cakes.

And you’d think after all that, I’d be sick of cake, right?
Wrong! I’m currently lying in bed thinking about cake. I have a problem. A delicious, frosting-covered problem.

At this point, you could say November has been a piece of cake... literally. I’ve eaten ALL the pieces!

December better come prepared because this girl is NOT slowing down 😤

What’s your “I’ve had too much, but I still want more” food? Make me feel less alone in this madness xD

POV: You’re trying to be a food blogger, but your family keeps eating your props 📸😤

Appe mornings at our place is basically a competitive sport. My mom makes a fresh batch, and before she can even turn around, my sister, dad, and I have already eaten half of them straight off the stove.

Those perfectly crispy edges? The fluffy insides? That chef’s kiss moment when you dip them in coconut chutney? Unmatched.

My mom has accepted that she’s basically running a 24/7 appe assembly line on these mornings. The pan never stops. The spicy coconut chutney bowl gets refilled twice. And somehow, we’re STILL not satisfied.

Send help. Or more batter. Preferably both.

What’s your family’s “everyone loses their chill” breakfast dish?
