Sometimes slowing down is not quitting… it’s choosing differently 🤍

I’ve been quiet here for a while.
Less posts. Less stories. Less “available for orders” updates.
And I know some of you must have wondered…
“Has she stopped taking orders?”
No… I haven’t.
I’ve just slowed down.
Life after office hours looks a little different these days.
There are tiny hands waiting to tell me about their day.
Little stories that cannot be postponed.
Homework that needs patience.
Hugs that won’t stay this small forever.
So yes, I chose to pause a little.
To breathe a little.
To be present a little more.
For now, I’ll be taking orders only over the weekends — when I can give both my work and my family the heart they deserve.
Will I return to regular orders soon?
I honestly don’t know.
I’m just flowing with this phase.
Because my little boy won’t always need me this way.
He’s growing faster than I’m ready for… and I don’t want to miss these in-between moments.
Thank you for staying.
Thank you for understanding.
And thank you for supporting not just my work… but my journey as a mother and a woman learning to balance it all. 🤍✨

I know this reel comes a little late — but it’s purely a knowledge-sharing one.

While taking Plum Cake orders, one question kept popping up:
“How is the plum cake different from your Heritage Fruit-n-Nut Cake?”

I explained it individually to many of you,
but I knew this deserved a reel of its own.

Because these two cakes are very different —
from pre-prep and ingredients
to baking techniques, temperatures, and baking time.

There was a big question in my Anniversary... what are you making - no not for the main course, but for Dessert!!! My family doesn't like cream cakes.. So the option was a chocolate Ganache cake, Brownie or a Tiramisu (Cheesecake I made in my last Anniversary, so this time it was crossed out from the list) .. and Tiramisu came out the winner!!
Now it needed all the exquisite ingredients- lady finger and mascrapone. With the crazy week I was totally running short of time to make a ladyfinger, that too I had never made one.. so Safe Side I made my special super fluffy vanilla sponge and offcourse mascrapone got replaced with ricotta - thanks to Instamart (I had written a post on it- You can read the story for yourself)..

It turned out awesome and yes it does live upto the hype!!!

I did a little bit of improvisation though and I guess it's absolutely okay untill the taste gets enhanced!!!

As a baker the biggest nightmare is not having the correct ingredients..

I had never made a tiramisu before, so I planned to make one.. It needs mascrapone cheese.. that's the hero ingredient!!

I generally order from Bigbasket, zepto, flipkart or Amazon.. but unfortunately Mascrapone cheese wasn't available there, so I had to place an order with Instamart!! When I recieved order I found that they have sent me Ricotta cheese instead of Mascrapone.. I will not say much in the post here, since all conversions are attached..

They totally rejected the refund and even replacement on the face of it, and inspite of asking a reason to it they just decided to avoid saying it's not in their policy!!
Like really.. providing wrong products to customers is in their policy??

And the fun part is the Instamart even decided that ricotta can be easily be used instead of Mascrapone - when their customer executive says - "we do have respect for your taste and time" I mean really!! As if they have some kind of super power to know whats best for the customer.. 🙄🙄🙄

So guys, you can go through the conversation yourself and save yourself from wasting your time and energy.

To be precise - here it wasn't about the money. It was about the right ingredient.. Making a new exotic Recipe for the 1st time, there is a child-like excitement!!! And now I will have to manage with ricotta..

Here I am tagging Instamart and Swiggy too!! Which I am not even sure they will bother to respond back!!

But yes definitely this is my last time and I will request everyone reading this share it as such as you can so that more and more people are aware of Instamart's unprofessional policies - _where they can send a wrong product to the customer but cannot replace it!!
