Cakette *** With the urge to recreate the simplicity and not depend on store bought desserts and cakes, it seems that I have found my calling. Don’t like fondant?

Childhood’s favourite memories are attached to playing with friends, the ice cream that used to drip down to our elbows in the summer months and the simple yummy goodness of Mom’s home made desserts. It all started with a little bake-sale that I did for my son’s play school during Christmas. Friends and family who tasted my creations were surprised at the outcome…. “How could this tiramisu be home

-made?”… “You made that cheesecake? ...Really?”

With enough encouragement and motivation, I slowly became more adventurous and decided to make all the birthday cakes at home. I re-discovered the artist hidden inside me; and with the art training that I undertook many moons ago, how could my cakes not be pretty? Cakette has been born out of the encouragement that I have received from my friends and family. Being a hands-on mom with two little kids at home, I realise the need to have
absolutely healthy and good quality ingredients. Therefore, at Cakette, quality is not only on
the surface, but also on the inside. I go out of my way to ensure the finest of ingredients
available for any desserts or cakes that I make. I also take vegetarians and vegan options. I won’t use it. Don’t like frosting, I will not use that... I think every piece I bake is a piece of art, and I give equal attention to all, whether it is a cupcake or a two- tier birthday cake. I love to hear from people and every little detail they want in their cake. I want to be as happy as I am- once the cake is made. :)

Cakette is not an army of people sweating in the kitchen churning out the most commercially-viable options. It is the venture of a mom, who wants to make sure that your family gets the best possible product at the best possible price. So, want a hand crafted cake? Have an idea in mind?
