Woeser Bakery is a small bakery with the goal to offer unique choices in a town known for its variety. Serving mostly desserts (minimum eight options at any time, maximum is nineteen), it also offers a variety of cafe drinks and a breakfast menu. There is vegan cake, gluten-free cake, as well as regular cake; almond, walnut, and chocolate tarts; and chocolate chilli lollipops! We try to use natural ingredients as much as possible: for example, sweeteners like brown sugar, jaggery, and honey instead of white sugar. We offer handmade cappuccinos, mochas, and French press coffee made with fresh coffee beans, as well as fifteen varieties of hot tea and real hot chocolate. There are also eight options for cool drinks, including milkshakes, as well as cold sodas. The breakfast menu is small because there is only one person working behind the counter, but it includes American-style pancakes with maple syrup, omelets, large fruit salads, homemade granola, and more. With quiet music, handmade art on the walls, paper lamps with soft light, and a stack of games for the customers to use, we try to offer a friendly, peaceful environment where people can enjoy something sweet. We also have a small library with books that can be rented at 20 rupees per day, with a deposit twice the book’s original cost (so that we can keep the collection intact).
