On a day when Odisha celebrates its most beloved dish, Bhubaneswar is also celebrating one of its most beloved daughters, in chocolate.

A team of 15 artists from the Chocolate Club in Bomikhal has spent the last three days crafting a 100 kg chocolate sculpture of President Droupadi Murmu, set to be unveiled on Friday evening as part of Pakhala Dibasa celebrations across the city.
Chocolate Club member Rakesh said the inspiration was deeply personal.

President Murmu's life, her struggles and her journey from a small tribal village in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district to Raisina Hill moved the team enough to dedicate three sleepless days to getting every detail right.

The result is an intricate, life-size artwork that the artists hope captures not just her likeness but the dignity and resilience she represents for millions of Odias.
That the unveiling falls on Pakhala Dibasa makes it all the more meaningful, a day rooted in Odia identity and pride, now carrying a tribute to the woman who has come to embody that identity on the world stage.
