Butterscotch Banyan Bonsai!!

As a baker I particularly love designing and executing structure cakes and this massive baby is my new favourite!

This Banyan Bonsai in butterscotch went to a young lady who just got admitted to the school of her dreams for Grade 11. The Banyan tree is a hallmark of her new school and her mom gave me the lovely idea of trying to make a cake to celebrate her daughter's effort and achievement!

This was a butterscotch cake with our signature salted caramel cream filling with cashew praline, the bark was rich dark chocolate ganache, the canopy was the same layer cake frosted with vanilla buttercream and the foliage was a shredded green vanilla sponge cake. No fondant was used on the cake! The hanging roots were wire covered with chocolate.

So loved making this cake and was sp thrilled with the awesome feedback!!

Fortnite Fun!!

What do you do when a client wants to enjoy a birthday on the go? Well, themed cookies are the way to go!

Made these theme based butter cookies for a sweet 11 year old boy who loves his video games! His mom shared some designs, I added a couple and thus was born the "Fortnite Birthday Hamper"!

It was truly awesome to hear that the birthday boy and family thoroughly enjoyed the cookies!

Let it Choc-Go!!!

Another Frozen theme cake, but with a twist - Frozen starring birthday girl Yusri as Elsa, her sister as Anna and her brother as Kristoff. Olaf well, remained Olaf 😁!

The cake was a uber yummy Blackforest - layers of delicious dark chocolate cake with a silky whipped cream, chopped dark chocolate and juicy cherry filling and whipped cream frosting. The ice palace was made with home made strawberry hard candy and coloured rice paper. Snowflakes and the 4 figurines were made using fondant

So loved making this cake and loved that the birthday girl and her siblings loved the cake!!

Happy Birthday Amma!!

My mom celebrated her birthday last week and it was my pleasure and privilege to make her a cute as a button birthday cake!

She's been an inspiration to my sister and I in so many ways - an awesome doctor who enjoyed baking, sewing, reading and so much more in her free time! She showed us by example that we never had to settle with being only one thing - as long as we had an interest, a passion and dedication, the sky was the limit.

Thanks for being an amazing mom and a wonderful role model in so many ways!

As a side note, the cake was a desi fusion cake - a super yummy red velvet cake with a rasgulla and kesar cream filling and whipped cream frosting with buttercream blooms.

Don't matter if you're black or white!!

To me, this MJ line most definitely follows "I love you chocolate"!!

This was a choco duet cake - the base was a fudgy dark chocolate cake with a white chocolate mousse filling and a whipped cream frosting. The client wanted 3 hearts on the cake to signify the 3 members of the family - those were dark chocolate sponge cakes with minimal whipped cream piping and a dollop of white chocolate mousse, right on top and a chocolate sauce drip along the sides. The 3 fresh roses just added a splash and pop of colour to the otherwise dual toned cake

So enjoyed hearing that this cake converted a non-cake person in to a cake lover! Music to a baker's ears!

Mauve over, Unicorn is here!!

Unicorn cakes seem to be a firm favourite with young girls these days and I am having a ball making them in pretty pastels!!

This super yummy dutch truffle cake went out to a special girl who turns 11 today. It was frosted with a light eggless meringue buttercream and adorned with vanilla buttercream blooms and golden fondant accents. Loved how the purple ombre came out!

The cake had to travel half way across Bangalore and was so relieved to hear it reached the birthday girl and her family safely and that they enjoyed the cake immensely! Thanks to this cake for to reconnect with a friend, so double happiness!

Blushing Velvet!

Was so pleased with this blushing pink cake that went to a beautiful couple celebrating their 21st anniversary.

I have been making cakes for this family for the past 6 years and enjoy the creative freedom given and their willingness to experiment with new flavour combinations. This was a moist red velvet cake with a cream and dark chocolate ganache filling with a delectable cream cheese frosting topped with a white chocolate ganache mosaic. The only adornment added were piped buttercream blooms and fresh mint leaves.

It was truly a joy to behold and then devour!!

Baby Blue Part Deux!!
I've noticed this year that I've been doing a lot of cake in twos...and it was time for back to back half birthday cakes for two cute baby boys!

This was a utterly delectable dutch truffle cake with a white chocolate mousse and whipped cream frosting. My client wanted me to try 2 half cakes in an almost anti gravity set up for her little one's cake and so went ahead and tried the same.

All the elements on the cake were handmade and completely edible.

So loved the heartfelt msg of appreciation from the parents of little Fayaz! Thank you and for making my cakes a part of your celebrations!

Baby Blue!
Totally enjoyed making this Half birthday cake for little Siddarth!

This was a yummilicious butterscotch cake with our signature salted caramel cream and cashew praline filling and white chocolate mousse frosting and edibl models of little Siddarth and a ladder, rice bowl and pop ups.

So loved making this cake and lovee hearing that the family thoroughly enjoyed it!

Pink or Blue, We love you!!

Made this lovely cake for a client who was throwing a surprise baby shower for her sister.

The cake was red velvet cake with rasmalai cream cheese and rasgulla filling with a light eggless swiss meringue buttercream frosting. Totally unique and oh so totally yum.

The cupcakes were orange blossom and choco chip flavour with pink and blue vanilla buttercream.

So enjoyed making this Baby shower hamper and do enjoyed hearing how the mom-to-be and the rest of the family enjoyed every bite of the cakes and cupcakes.

Kitchen Cake!!
Was super happy to make this cake for 's mother's 60th birthday!
This was a dark chocolate truffle cake made with whole wheat and jaggery and it included all the birthday girl's favourite things - cooking, making homemade vermicelli and knitting. All the elements on the cake Including the lady were edible and handmade!

So enjoyed making every element of this cake!

Dino Trix Cakes!!

A couple of 2 tier custom cakes left the BakeAway kitchens today! One red velvet 2 tier cake and one Dutch truffle 2 tier cake went out to twin brothers who just turned 4.

The brother are avid fans of the new show "Dino Trux' and insisted on having their beloved character Ty on both their cakes and while one went with Revitt, the other went with Click Clack a companion piece.
I was happy with how cute the hand made models turned out!

All that you see on the cake was edible and oh so yummy! The bushes were all sponge cake and while the lower tiers were frosted with choco fudge ganache, the upper tiers were frosted with luscious light blue buttercream.
