Lakeview Milk Bar The world's first milk bar and Bangalore's oldest ice cream parlour! He handed the baton over to Vraj Lal in 1947, when he left the country for his homeland.

Over the last 80 years, we have watched Bangalore grow to become the metropolis it is today. In these past eight decades, Lakeview Milkbar has shared with this city its laughs, tears, heartbreak and camaraderie. James Meadow Charles founded Lakeview Milkbar in 1930, making it the first of its kind in the world. From serving no more than 3 flavours of ice cream for 1 anna per scoop, Lakeview has come a long way in these past few decades. Now our menu lists more than 50 items and we have multiple outlets throughout the city but our ice creams still tastes the same as it did when we opened all those years ago. Lakeview Milkbar is inexplicably tied to the rich history of Bangalore. Its is where the old-timers come to reminisce and the young-ones come to ‘chill’. This piece of Bangalore’s legacy will continue to be Bangalore’s favourite hangout spot for many more years to come!
