The Oota Company

The Oota Company Finding Bangalore on authentic culinary experience through food & walks The Oota Company is exactly what it sounds like….. Is this for me? Choice is yours.

Oota (food) & Company: A group of friendly and talkative people, who meet up to go to a great variety of eateries/restaurants. We will be eating at all sorts of restaurants and sampling all sorts of cuisines. From Indian to Chinese, to pizza, to something completely eccentric – we’ll try it all! It won’t just be for dinner, sometimes we’ll meet up for brunches, sometimes we'll go to an event, some

times we'll go out for cocktails, sometimes we’ll meet up just to try a cute new coffee shop or bakery, sometimes we'll even take a trip– and hopefully, delicious! What is a typical The Oota Company event like? The Oota Company is your tri-monthly dinner party where you sample different restaurants and cuisines, find out more about the cuisine, not to mention meeting new and interesting dinner club foodies! Every month we will feature new cuisines and the restaurant which specialises in it. This is a great night out, where you’ll have conversations around the food and meet new people. Yes, if you are…
Looking for a unique dining experience
Passionate about food
Don't mind meeting new people

How much will it cost? Approximately 1000-1500 INR per person and sometimes even lesser (excluding drinks). This will include an entrée, main and a dessert. The experience -free or priceless depends on how you look at it! Each dinner will be different and so will the price. You can buy your drink at the restaurant and that is between you, your love of drinks and your wallet. Can I come alone or should I bring friends? If you happen to come alone on the night, that’s fine as you’ll make friends later. If you happen to come with friends, make sure you end up talking to more foodies than just your friends.

"Coorgis, a warrior tribe from the southwestern part of India, have always been known for their love of pork (pandi). Their cuisine is predominantly non-vegetarian, owing to the fact that they always ate what was available off the land. There was little foreign influence on the Coorgis’ eating habits, and thus pork (from wild boar), jungle mangoes, jackfruit, kembh leaves (edible colocasia) and rice became the prime ingredients of their cuisine."

Nestled in the heart of Frazer town is a slice of history so unassumingly located that you would miss it entirely if you more or just miss a glance. Started in 1902, this bakery continues to be a thriving hotspot and ever more during the holy month when they dole out their Ramadan special Bheja (Goat brain) Puffs.
The history of Albert Bakery and sampling of their popular delicacies is a part of our Frazer Town Ramadan Food Walk and Frazer Town Heritage Food Walk.
