For quite some time now, I’ve been thinking about sharing this with you. Lately, I’ve been hearing a very genuine question from people around me — “Why are your cakes expensive?”
And honestly, I completely understand where that question comes from. So, I thought I’d take a moment to lovingly explain what goes behind creating one of my designer cakes and why my cakes are priced a little differently from regular bakery cakes.
As a home-baker, I make your cakes and every little delicacy from scratch, in small batches, with attention to every detail. Nothing is mass-produced or pre-made just to save time.
Every custom cake begins with your idea — the theme, colours, flavours, textures and little details that make it yours. 🤍
And those beautiful, custom-made cake toppers you see on my cakes? They are designed and created especially for your order, usually right after you place it. They are not simply picked off a shelf.
From sourcing the ingredients, preparing everything from scratch, baking and layering, to fillings, frosting, finishing, custom toppers, detailing, packaging and finally presenting it to you — there are hours of work, patience, skill and love behind every cake.
When you order from a home-baker, you’re not just paying for a cake.
You’re paying for the time, craftsmanship, quality, customisation and countless little details that go into making your celebration feel truly special. ✨
So, when I say my cakes are exclusive and may be priced a little higher than regular bakery cakes in town, I hope this gives you a little glimpse into the why behind it.
