Farewell Cake!!๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐
A Farewell Cake ordered by a Mom for her son who is travelling to Scotland for further studies. For the event, I decided to go with a vintage suitcase cake with some fondant books, a Scotland flag, an Indian Passport and the University logo on top of it, that would fit the occasion perfectly.
Unless the client himself requires a fondant cake, I resort to it only as a last option. As much as possible I try to make my cakes in buttercream and ganache unless it is a cake that is very very fondant specific and is impossible to do otherwise. At first I was going to drape this cake in fondant too but then I realised I could achieve the same design on a ganache cake too while only using fondant for designing needs. It was a bit dark but then it gave it a beautiful leather kind of look that looked gorgeous. The client was super happy with the cake and applauded it calling it a "masterpiece". I was obviously over the moon with the reviews.๐โฅ๏ธ๐
